Last week my OmniPL dashboard showed "1 Upgrade Available" in the Notification Center.

I did the upgrade today as I have my system hardwired with CAT6 cable to my COX modem.

Just wondering if others saw this upgrade and if anyone knew what it affected?

Release Notes for 5.0.1 say:
  • Ability to configure the minimum chilling temperature to 40 F with capable equipment.
  • Ability to configure a water bowl as a water feature
  • Feature and reliability improvements
Known Issues
  1. If the firmware upgrade process stops at 99%, this indicates the upgrade was successful, but a manual reboot is required.
  2. If you see the “Running the backup configuration” alarm after the upgrade, check to make sure the VSP pumps are still configured properly. If not, reconfigure the VSP pumps. Please report back to the engineering team below if you experience this issue.
  3. Heater extend and cooldown should be disabled when running back-to-back 24-hour filter pump schedules or the second schedule will fail to run if the heater is running when the first schedule ends.
  4. During the upgrade the TriStar 950 might run. This is a pump issue and the firmware on the pump needs to be upgraded and therefore the pump needs to be swapped.
  5. Equipment to Equipment interlock that includes a cleaner or water feature with pump and valve does not work consistently if “paused for valve change” is enabled.
  6. Pool Cover Interlocks does not support Cooling or Auto Mode. Heater will only run in Heat Mode for Pool Cover

Sorry I just answered my own question with a quick Google

Here is the information for anyone that is interested.

Too funny we went to the same Hayward place!

Here is the Hayward document if anyone wants it.

That’s good news. We had a user post about bricking his OmniHub after updating from 3.0-5.0 or 5.1. He had a Hayward engineer come out and swap out his controller for a new one. He kept the old one so they could figure out what was causing it to brick jumping from 3.0 to the current which was supposed to be safe.
Ability to configure the minimum chilling temperature to 40 F with capable equipment. This is for the new heat pumps. Micro channel with the ability to heat with ambient temperatures at 40 instead of 50.
-Ability to upgrade older MSPs directly to the latest firmware without an intermediate step. No more bricking!
