Hi, everyone. Over the past couple seasons my diverter valve handles have snapped off. Is this an easy replacement? I’m pretty handy. Just not sure if I can do this without cutting any pipe?

Thanks!

Those are ball valves, not diverter valves .

The handles probably broke with the valve getting harder to turn and sticking.

The long term fix is replacing those valves with diverter valves. Otherwise you will continue to have problems with them.

I think I see the square Hayward symbol in one of the blue centers. They may be a model that Hayward no longer makes.

Probably will only be at this house another year or 2 . What’s the short term solution. There has to be just generic handles that I can replace with correct?

Maybe this…

Remove a handle and see what the shape of the stem is. Then have to hunt and maybe buy some handles to find a match.

Use a pair of vise grips to turn the valve.

Do you know the valves turn?

I can’t just get the handle ..? And replace this piece ?

Yes the valves turn. Last season I had to use plyers to turn handle when I wanted to shut a specific filter or deep end off

I do not think that the valves are Hayward.

The center blue cap pops off and there is a screw under the cap that holds the handle on.

There is a logo on the blue cap and writing on the valve.

All valves are union, so you can open them and lubricate them with some silicone lube.

Also, you should clean the leaves so the pump can have proper ventilation.

You should not put tabs in the feeder to protect the heater.

Yeah I always blow the leaves. I’m not opening the pool for another month. Just trying to get ahead of things. The heater is disconnected and the feeder is not used

Looks like some folks are 3D printing new handles....

Contact Inyopools and see if they can buy the handles from Fluidra.
