I guess I will, it's gonna be hard not to dream of what might have been with the mermaid rodeo...wait wut???you'll be enjoying that pool in no time! liner looks great! Even without the mermaid rodeo![]()
Looks great. You will love this site, I've been using the TFP method for years and it has made pool ownership a blast. I'm from PB too!We are so happy with our choice of liner.
Although it was supposed to have a border consisting of dolphins and seahorses being rode by mermaids. LolView attachment 452135
I never have problems with these. How is he going to bond them as I've never seen them surface install on a new concrete deck.Talked to him before I left for work. He said that he uses surface mounts for ladders. Said he's been running into a lot of pools that the anchors have rusted in the concrete and they can't get the ladder bolts undone (rusted) in order to replace the ladder without cutting the concrete. He did say sometimes he forgets things but I'll just take him at his word for how he does ladder anchors. Do I have a preference on how he does them, no not really, as long as they are stable and don't get loose over a couple of seasons.
As far as the equipment pad. He said he will fill it in when he is done with the pipes, those will come up in front of the pad. Sounded like he just didn't have time to get that done before the concrete truck was scheduled. Well if you worked longer hours you would of been ready so there!!
They are going to install the liner today. I hope he gets equipment installed tomorrow. Probably gonna take awhile to even get the pool filled up to the returns using one 3/4" hose. I don't have enough hose to go from the front of the house in order to use 2 hoses.
Wow never would of thought anyone else from PB would be on here.Looks great. You will love this site, I've been using the TFP method for years and it has made pool ownership a blast. I'm from PB too!
Thank you!!! He has done an excellent job so far. Regardless of delays, there was a reason I used him. He’s a perfectionist like I am. At least as much as one can be.Really looks great. Such a clean looking job - concrete looking great, steps and liner look crisp and well done, coping smooth and consistent. Just looks like a well-executed job. So happy to see the progress.
I have a lot of river rock in landscaping around my house. I use a blower on it to blow leaves, grass etc out of it. Love river rock it doesn’t degrade or really move like mulch does. I can’t speak though how pine needles would blow out. I wouldn’t think it would be hard with a good blower.Thoughts on what material to use in the landscaping areas? Was thinking river rock but we do have about 20 large pine trees that line the back yard. They are about 50' from the end and right side of the pool. Normally we don't have any pine needles in the area where the pool will be but was worried about pine needles getting in the river rock and how hard it might be to get them out.
We've got some smaller river rock on the side of the house and it likes to collect pine needles. Bigger river rock would make it easy to blow out pine needles without the rock going with them.I have a lot of river rock in landscaping around my house. Not sure on water temps, probably running about 72 out of the tap, mid 80’s air temp during the day and low 60’s at night. What is your water and air temps?
Put a gallon in saturday and Sunday, got it all mixed in with a broom. Surface debris is building up though. Supposed to get electrical hooked up today, hopefully that means the equipment will be installed so we can finish filling the pool. There is a rock stuck in the pipe that goes to the first light. At least it's not under concrete, they will work on that this morning. PB told me he has plenty of chlorine and will bring some more over. Only chlorine I can find is the household strength, our menards is out.So it is over 60 degrees. Get some chlorine in the pool. What I would do is use a boat paddle or straw broom to move the water. What you will do is walk around the pool with the broom in the water. Do quite a few laps until you see the water moving on it's own. The walk around the pool and slowly pour some chlorine into the flow of the water. THEN walk around with the broom a couple more times to make sure it is all mixed in.
Sure do not want to invite algae into that new pool!
