My current CYA is 40, and I need to raise it to 70.
From PoolMath, 3kg Trichlor will raise:
1. CYA 30; hence achieve CYA 70
2. at the same time, pH drop 2.7
I am currently using soda ash to raise the pH whenever require. From PoolMath, to raise pH 2.7 in order to balance off the effect by trichlor, I need 5kg of soda ash. TA will raise by 87 also.
With current reading of TA 60, this will raise my total TA to 147, which will overshoot the recommended range of 60-80.
As I can’t get cyanuric acid and can only depend on Trichlor for cya, so the only thing I can do to raise ph without raising TA is to use aeration.
Any advice on the above?
Btw, does salt raise CH too? My CH raised from 40 to 60 after added 175kg of salt to my pool.
