But did they get the direction correct on the compass?
coping goes on...
What size coping did you go with? 12x24? 16x24?
That stone is gorgeous. I have a hunch its not for freeze thaw cycles in Michigan, but if by some miracle it is, I feel like ripping my concrete out![]()
Thank you very much! I don't have anyone really to bounce ideas or choices off of, so the buck stops here. I appreciate that you have the same taste! This pool is a favorite of mine, for the color choices, materials and compass rose. My next plaster job will include a compass rose - should have been bold enough to do it the first time. The color contrast on that is awesome!
"They are going to acid wash this afternoon.... then filling with hose for a while to get about 12 inches in pool (mainly to protect pool for water fill tomorrow}."
Please tell me they are not going to fill it to 12" then stop...........that is NOT a good thing. The water should not stop at any time while it is filling. If you stop the flow of water it can cause a line on your plaster. Even with just one hose going it will be adding enough to keep that from happening.
Okay....whew...........I was so worried! LOL So the water will be flowing the whole time. GOOD! They want to have a "cushion" of water for when they add the water. Where will this other water come from? I am guessing it is a large amount of water that will be flowing at a fast rate of speed. I would have it spraying up into the air to help keep it from "pushing" the new plaster. Your plaster guy has the right idea and I am sure he will set it up the correct way.

What are the round white plastic inserts? all for umbrellas? Also, why did you take the edge off of the coping? safety? is that common?
Wow, the compass turned out perfect with the blue and black. That's a beautiful touch. Well done!
