Looking for a fitting that screws onto winter plugs with blow-thru valve

I have compressed air, a shut off valve, and a pressure gauge (in that order) that I want to connect to these plugs. That way, while I still have all the winter plugs in the plumbing, I can apply pressure to each pipe and see if it holds pressure. I did the bucket leak test last year and it showed a small leak, plus my calcium hardness and CYA dropped over the summer, but over the winter with everything shut off and plugged up the vessel holds water, so it seems like its a leak in the plumbing somewhere.

I wouldn't think the supplier made these threaded sections specifically, so they are probably used somewhere else in the world, and it would be cheaper and faster to find what that is for and just buy something. But I have thought about just calling the local CNC shop to make me a fitting that will screw onto the top of these plugs and adapt to something easier to connect to, like NPT.

Plastering Next Week

Welcome to TFP.

You will find lots of tips and tricks in these links...

Alkalinity won’t rise above 90

Low TA is good, high TA is bad.

You are past the plaster curing period.

TA of 90 is ok. TA of 50-70 is better.

Post a complete list of your water chemistry.

What test kit are you using?

You using PoolMath?

Jandy DEV60 filter manifold continously cracking

I was wondering if anybody else has had problems with the grid manifold top cracking.
I'm tired of replacing the stupid part. In the past six years, I have already bought at least four and epoxied three of those to try to re-use it.
At this point, I keep a spare ready all the time since I will most likely need it next time I open the filter to clean it.
It is ridiculous...
Is it only me, or has anybody else had this issue?

Alkalinity won’t rise above 90

Just had pool replastered 5 weeks ago and I realize that it’s common for the TA to be low but I’ve added about (10) 16 oz boxes of baking soda 1-2 at a time for several days and as expected, I’m struggling to keep the pH in check. It’s always around 8.2. Pool is about 12,500 gal and manually chlorinated. Still getting a small amount of ‘dust’ when brushing. Should I be concerned?

Looking for a fitting that screws onto winter plugs with blow-thru valve

When I close my pool I use these winter plugs with the blow-thru valve in them. I am looking for an adapter, fitting, hose (ect.) that I can screw onto to top of the threaded stem with a seal so I can use these plugs while trying to find a leak in the plumbing. The external threads on the stem are 5/16"-18, which is an odd size and the only thing I can find that use that size are o-ring pilot threads, and I can't find much out there that size. Does anyone have any ideas? I've contacted the supplier and they had no clue. Thanks.

New EVO 614i Robot Pool Cleaner Review

GP2,

Scheduling is done via the app.. This means you would need the 614iQ and not the 604..

The scheduling was added to the app a month or two after I first got my EVO...

It allows you to schedule individual days and times... it maintains this schedule and just keeps repeating, unlike the Dolphin which you have to set once a week.. And... The real downside to the the Dolphin programming is it will only run at the time you set it up.. So, if you want to run it at 2 am, you have to stay up until 2 am..

Some Dolphins have a 'smart" plug setting where you can connect them to a smart outlet and you can let the outlet turn the robot on or off... As far as I know, the EVO's do not have this option.

You should buy whatever works best for you... I know what works best for me..

Thanks,

Jim R.

Skimmer basket malfunction

Hello to all,

Have 2 skimmer baskets that do not seem to want to stay level in the skimmer. One side has sunk [1/2"] into the body of the skimmer and it's locked into skimmer recepticle. I also added a tie-strap to the inside at 3 oclock to help remove, which has worked previously for the last 7-8 yrs w hair nets. Instead of a true 8" width, it was less and this is the culprit. Just didnt think it would have been an issue.

I know I would take a pair of needle nose a destroy them while removing, but just looking to see of there are any tricks of the trade I am not aware. Any help appreciated for a pretty mundane request. thank you very much for any assistance.

Bought a used pool (liner question)

I am totally new to owning a pool and just recently purchased a used 15'x30 Atlantic Concorde Oval above ground pool (I have three kids ages 2, 6 and 9 and the pool is really all about them). I am currently in the process of deconstructing the pool and my biggest question/concern is about the liner. The liner on the pool currently is less than one year old, however from what I have read deconstructing and moving and above ground pool will ruin the current liner and require the purchasing of a new one. Is this statement true? Is there a way to save the liner? Or am I better off not being concerned with the liner during deconstruction and buying a new one? Thank you very much for any assistance that is provided.

Thank you
