Krystal clear filter pump model number 633t

I got a Coleman index pool from my kids and bought a new pump for it this yr. Hooked everything up turned it on set the timer to 12 and put chemicals in and went to bed. Got up this morning go out to check on it pump was not running so put it on where it will run with out timer still won't come on checked to make sure filter was good. Checked the gfi it's flashing green. So not sure if I'm missing something any thoughts would be appreciated.

Jandy JE3000TR not going into chiller mode

We're coming up on almost two years of having our pool and the water is finally hot enough (92F) I want to cool it down. I purposely bough the chiller option because I knew this would happen. I have tired all combos of buttons/temps/etc and the heat pump will not kick on. I found this thread Jandy JE heat pump with chiller option error - Low temp threshold sensor open or not installed and though that would fix it, but no matter what I set my temp to it would not kick on. The heater has been working great. I have a Jandy AquaLink RS and iAquaLink 3.0 if that matters.
I'm also going to screen grab dump everything I hope is useful in helping troubleshoot the issue.

Thanks in advance for any advice. I can open up panels and take pics if needed as well.

Noticed this happening, how alarming is this?

Hi all! I am fairly new to pool ownership and new to the forums. I had a 15x30 above ground pool (professionally) installed about 2 years ago. Everything was going smooth until I started noticing the bottom rails starting to bend upwards. Now I understand that I will probably have to have the pool dissembled and redone but I would love to know if I should take immediate action or if I am ok for the season (another 3 months). I measured the bars to be coming up about 1/2 inch above the rest of the liner. I do have small holes in the sand from stepping around, but the pool seems to be balanced within 1inch everywhere.

I will be contacting the installer, but I would love an independent review as much as possible as well. I have been trying to find someone local to come inspect but most of the guys I found deal with in-ground pools. I am in Leander, Texas if anyone has a good contact for anyone that could come out and inspect.

Looking forward to everyones thoughts. Thanks!

Hello from MO

our Polaris pool robot kept losing it’s tread; been in the shop for over 3 weeks. borrowed a friend’s robot and now testing the Dolphin brand.

our pool is a little cloudy and i’m not great at chemical testing but want to learn more as the pool store tests around us seem way over priced or at least seem to sell us more than we need.

my neighbor swears by TFP so i’m here

Pump Pressure/Jets gurgling

So keep having the same issue with my jets sputtering. I removed the pump top and filled it with water and then started the Filter again at the highest variable speed and all was well for a day. Then it happened again, and again this morn.

Doesn’t appear to be a not enough water in the pool issue.

What else can I check?Attached a couple vids of the jets and then the pump itself (did I not put the lid on right?).

Heading out for a few days tonight so don’t want to leave the filter on if there’s a bigger issue!

Thx

Opening the pool after 3 years

Hi, we recently bought the house with the unground pool on property. We decided to open it in May. From the previous owner we learned that pool was not opened for last 3 years. When opened, there was a lot of leaves in it, so while working on pump/filter issues we clean up as much as we could. Few things were done: we change the pump to new one, as the old one was leaking, the chlorinator and the filter were changed as well. Now we have sand filter. The swimming pool is ~18,000 gallons.
The bottom was vacuumed at least twice, with a lot of debris removed.
Last Wednesday, (6/28) after we knew all is working we added 15 gallons of liquid chlorine, water from green changed to grey/brownish Filter is backwashed ~ 2x/24 hours since that day. On Monday (7/3) we added additional 10 gallons of chlorine, as the water did not improve (still very cloudy, color did not change). We just purchased the kit recommended to measure water parameters at home (didn't arrive yet), so we used our local pool store to check the water (last Friday): chlorine was very high (I still can't measure that with my small home kit, as is still above 5); pH ~7.2; alkalinity ~80 ppm, CYA ~6. Calcium was adjusted as it was 0 at that time, but I don't know what is now, as we didn't measure it yet. We have some stabilizer to increase CYA as well, but we were told not to do that until the chlorine is in range.
My biggest concern is how the water looks after a week: very cloudy, brownings/ grayish, we can't see more than 2 steps down. I know that sand filter is slower that the other but concerning is that there is not much going on and water is still cloudy and not improving. Am I just impatient? How long it will take to clarify the water? Should we keep shocking with chlorine or it does take some time now to filter the water? Should we add the CYA now or wait until the water is clear and chlorine in range? The pictures with water attached.
Any advices will be highly appreciated :)

Balancing pool before party

Hello,

I noticed 2 days ago that I didn't have any CYA ( fresh water pool still looked really nice) I went ahead and added some and now I have a CYA of 65. I have been trying to get a good reading of FC but when I added in the agent the water never turns pink. I am assuming I have no chlorine. I added in 1 jug of liquid chlorine. Tested 8 hours later still no reading. I added another jug and this morning I tested still nothing. Here is the numbers I pulled from Taylor K-2006

CYA - 65
TA - 120
PH - 7.8

Thoughts? I thought about adding another jug but I am not sure if there is something else going on? No algae from what I can see. I live in San Antonio, TX if that helps and temperatures have been really hot lately.

Thanks,
-jb

Calimar pump - where did you buy and would you buy it again?

I know Pool Supply Unlimited has the lowest price but the BBB page for them is horrendous. A little afraid to order from them after reading it so where did you buy your Calimar pump? Maybe a few positive experiences with PSU regarding buying this pump will boost my confidence.

I've only seen one negative review of the pump on this forum. My experience in automotive forums is that people happy with their cars don't post but the people that have problems do so the lack of follow-up posts about the pump seem to indicate people are satisfied.

Jandy Pro Series Nicheless LED Underwater Light - does not work

My pool construction was completed in early March 2022. I have a small saltwater fiberglass inground pool which has one pool light (Jandy Nicheless Pro Series). The light no longer comes on and I have done the suggested troubleshooting--reset the light circuit breaker, checked the voltage on the transformer (it is in range). The light initially went to a green LED for a while and would not come on completely or change colors. Now the green LED does not illuminate, and the light does not come on/illuminate in any color. I suspect the bulb/cartridge is bad but surely seems to have failed early as it is less than 3 years old. I am open to any suggestions/recommendations.

Thanks for your help.

confused about pH

Hi everyone. simple 5000 gal AGP with vinyl liner. Using test strips and K-2005 testing kit, I get pH above 8 and TA at around 320. I bought an electrode pH tester from amazon that has great reviews for accuracy and it shows pH is 6.8

Did I get a lemon? I don't have any distilled water yet to clean and calibrate (it says its factory calibrated and don't need to when its new). I am leaning toward the electrode tester not showing the proper results since TA is at 320.

Thoughts?

Solar cover holder.

Inspired by a post I saw here at tfp, I mocked up a prototype of a solar cover holder.
The idea is great - material not so much, as the pipes are flimsy and bendy. But that’s what we had at home.
So we’ll work on improving - I just needed to see how it worked in a practical sense, and I’m a fan 🤩IMG_4647.jpegIMG_4649.jpeg

SWCG safeties

I have read multiple posts through the years about not relying on SWCG flow switch as primary safety. I have a Core 55 and a Circupool Smartflo 1.5hp VSP. I plan on running them 24/7 and saw that this can help negate the need for a timer or anything.
Problem I have is that last time power went out, pump did not come back on...gave AC under voltage detected. When that happened, I had to unplug pump and plug it back in, so in that case, the SWCG will come back on, and if I'm not home, the pump stays off and I'm relying on flow switch as safety.
any way around that? Can SWCG be wired directly to VSP?

Salt keeps reading low and check salt

Hello-

I have a Hayward aqua rite with a t-9 cell. Recently it started flashing check salt and inspect cell. I checked my salt today manually and found it at about 3100. I then cleaned the cell, reset the “check cell” light and calibrated the unit to 3100. This was about 8 hours ago. I just checked and it’s now reading 2600 with both check salt and inspect cell flashing again.

I have had this unit for 8 years and am on my 3rd cell. Never seen this issue before. Any suggestions?

Leaning Inflatable

Hello!

We just bought this inflatable ‘Funsicle! 12’ x 30” pool and installed in on our cement pad. The pad is obvious not completely level as it is made to drain. The pool depth from the night to low point is only out by 1” to 1 1/2” but it is leaning quite a bit. The look doesn’t bother me, but we have a four year old son and safety comes first of course. I’ve talked to the company and they say it is safe but wanted to get anyone’s honest, experienced opinion. I’ve read numerous times that anything out of level by 2” or more is bad, anything under is okay. If this was in the middle of the yard I wouldn’t be so cautious, but it is right up against the neighbor’s fence and if it were to blow I’m sure it would take out their garden. Any advice is appreciated!

Intellicenter with pool, spa, valve delay not turning pump back on

Hi,

I have a pool and spa, separate bodies of water, using shared equipment.

It's all controlled by Intellicenter with the i8PS personality module. The pump is a Pentair VSF, with RS485 control. The pump is always powered, and speed is controlled by the Intellicenter.

The Intellicenter doesn't seem to handle switching bodies correctly.

Here's what I've tested / observed.

WITH valve delay
Moving from pool to spa works, but the pump runs during the 'valve delay' period.
Moving from spa to pool does NOT work. The pump is set to 0 speed immediately after the move from spa (which I think is correct) but does not get started once the valve delay completes.
In this 'stopped' state, the app shows the pump is meant to be on and running the pool.
If I turn the pool off and back on, the pump starts.

WITHOUT valve delay
Moving from spa to pool or from pool to spa works. Pump remains running.

The problem is that I need the valve delay to stop my spa overflowing. Each transition pushes a bit of pool water into the spa if the pump runs during that period.

Anyone else seen this, or know how to address it?

I have NOT tried powering the pump off the filter relay, as I'm trying to avoid all the 'lost communication' alarms (and it shouldn't be necessary).

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

John

Hello from sweltering Sanford Florida!

Name is Anthony with zero plumbing or chemistry experience. Neighbor let me have his 18’ above ground pool equipped with a 1.5hp pump. I registered on TFP because I feel like it is the right place for a beginner and 1st time pool owner like myself. Also, it is here that I’ve received only CORRECT answers to the many many questions I’ve had. So thank you for the knowledge and I look forward to picking y’all’s brains, A LOT!! Especially now that my very first plumbing project was finished about 6 hours ago (hopefully) on the very same pool. I will warn everyone in advance that this could get interesting to say the least. I’ll let y’all know how the plumb work dried and also upload a few pics. Thanks again for allowing me to be part of this wealth of knowledge that is TFP!!
