Watch out for diluted Kem-tec Muriatic acid

If 14% acid was half the price of 31% acid using it would not be a problem.

Just noticed Lowe's is now selling Kem-tec 14.5% concentration muriatic acid instead of the 31.45% version for about the same price. Buyer beware.
My HD/Lowes used to have both, side by side for the same price. Then they stopped carrying the good stuff. So I went to Sherman Williams and they had full strength in a hoity toity bottle for $27.99.

I'm and Ace hardware guy now. If their price goes up, I'll stick with them for not fleecing me sooner like the others. Lol.

My local pool store I posted about sells me a case of 4 gallons of 31% for $40.95.

I got soaked on the same thing with, Lowes ~ "Kem-tec 14.5% concentration muriatic acid instead of the 31.45% version for about the same price" . I use this material for several processes one being cleaning Porsche wheels for restoration the 31% does wonders to remove caked on brake dust from back sides of wheels for restoration , I do dilute it as needed as not to get too hot into aluminum but mostly painted wheels. . This 14% if that is what they claim is about water I sniffed it and thought it was water... the other 85% may be part backing soda to dumb it dumb more. I typically need to stand back and don't breath using the earlier product. I grabbed 2 boxes of 2 and one is being returned. Basically they watered it down 50% and neutralized it to play under some safety regulations i suspect. It s selling it at same price as 31%. If you need 31% for different applications can't get there with this product. Ken in NC
