Hello, i am new to TFP. 4 year old pool owner in south TX. I have few patches of calcium deposit on my pebble tec floor and walls. I reached out to a pool service company and inquired about their services and they want to do a hot start to remove the deposits. Is it safe to do a hot start for a 4 year old pool and would all that acid etch too much of my pebble tec? I read about bead blasting, which that company offers for tile cleaning. Can bead blasting be used on pebble tec plaster? Thank you in advance!

Welcome to TFP.

Your risk with an acid bath on the PebbleTec is too much plaster will be removed that holds the pebbles and pebbles come loose. Depends if the Pool Service Company knows what they are doing. @Dirk had a pebble pool ruined by an overly aggressive acid bath.

Show us pictures of your scale.

Can you post a full set of test results? FC, CC, pH, CH, TA, CYA...and temperature of the water.

How are you testing your water?
