That is correct.
You could use the second VSP for the spa and waterfeatures but the plumbing would become very complicated and would exceed the capabilities of the Easytouch.
The VS pump should be able to run 8 jets just make sure to run large enough pipe...3" suction and 2.5" return minimum. The air line should also be at least 2.5".
An Intelliflo XF would be a good option in this situation.

There really is no point in the second VSP If im looking to do the spa and water features on it and on the other VSP just the pool only.

I have not read all 100 posts but since you seem to want a fairly powerful spa, have you considered ditching the attached spa and going with a hot tub? Attached spas can add as much as $10k to the cost of pool build. Add in all the extra pumps and plumbing and you're basically at the cost of a hot tub.

That is something we considered , however, I love the stacked stone or rock spillway so I just really want the in ground spa lol
So I want to just try to get as close as possible to a powerful spa without the jets pushing me out or without going to over board on cost if that makes sense.

This is the setup we are getting:
EcoStar VS for Pool
EcoStar VS for Spa (10 jets with 270 negative edge, 40+ foot run)
Tri-Star (2 speed) for 3 sheer descents
It is always a smart move to get a separate, waterfall-type pump for water features if only because it gives you independent control of them.
As for the spa, we were advised that the separate pump was recommended because of three factors: the length of the run, the number of spillover sides (3 in our case), and the number of jets.

FWIW, we have the 8 jets on the 3hp VSP and it's plenty of power. And when we are in spa mode, the pool returns and water features (bubblers) don't work. In hindsight I wish I had the second pump for the features, but I wouldn't be worried about power to the jets in spa mode.

Hi, I am new to this forum, and still have a lot to learn. I have the easy touch and I believe it was worth every penny. I like that I can turn on my spa when I am at work and have it heated by the time I get home, and most important, i can see if the kiddos leave anything on that should not be on... I wanted to put my two sense in...
I will have to take you up on that, Brian helped me and it makes perfect sense but I'm the type of person that needs to see and touch it so it all adds up in this little head of mine lol
So I have been getting PM's about doing a OB and what it would cost so I figured I would share exactly where I'm at and what my bids are for each phase. I must say though that I would not have been able to do this without a few members that have been VERY helpful and have even taken calls, emails, and face to face visits. So I cannot take any credit for my progress. Quing guy, northwest Vegas, daddy Mack, beach head, imaz, and bdavis ( he's the only one not located in Vegas). The rest of the members here have been extremely helpful, patient , and supportiv as well as you have seen if you have read through my thread.
So below are my bids for each part of my project so you can have an idea of what things cost in the VEGAS area also feel free to reach out to me or any of the people I mentioned if your in the Vegas area. Just as a side note the price I'm going to display are BEFORE negotiations or asking for cash prices so you can potentially get your price down by asking the right questions. Also if I list a range of prices it's because I got more than 1 bid from different companies
1. The dig- $4700-$5200
2. Electrical -$2150-$2350
3. Plumbing- $3200 ( this included spa jets, auto full, main drain, etc) I also have long runs. I was quoted $4500 if I did infloor cleaners
4. Steel - $1800-$2050 ( I'm going over 6ft so it requires more steel)
5. Shotcrete- $7300-$7900.'this is 4500psi
6. Tile- $2100 with labor and materials. Now I will say this can vary GREATLY depending what you do. We ended up going with a stone spa spillway, ledger stone on our raised BB and glass marker tiles so my cost went up.
7. Decking. $5-$6.50 sq ft for kool deck and $7-$8 sq ft for pavers and upwards of $10 sqft for travertine. I will say that depending on how much decking you have (the larger the better deal) and how diligent you shop around you can find deals a lot better. We have just shy of 1000sqft
8. Equipment. 5k to 10k. This also depends on size of pool, if your going to heat it, automation, amount of pumps you
9. Pool finish. $2500-$5k. This depends on size of your pool and if your going to do plaster or take it up to mini pebble etc

As for us we found one of our subs who is a licensed contractor who has done plenty of work for members here and is currently building a pool for my new buddy. He gave us a deal to good to pass up so we are going to use him and we start digging on Friday(I will say that getting bids and doing all the research gave me the advantage when we went to the table to talk price).I will still be out there managing my project but it works out perfect for me since work is a little busy ( not complaining since it will pay for some of my bling) and I can let a expert handle the little thing and follow up with any concerns I have with him after I get feedback from my friends on TFP.

Will, that machine looks very familiar. Very excited and happy for you. Can't wait to see the layout. I just hit the builder for what seems to me like a major change. He has handled everything I have thrown at him with grace. I hope, and I'm sure, that your experience with him will be the same.

So they dropped off equipment at my house around 4pm and I thought they would just come back tomorrow to dig.... but much to my surprise they laid out the pool in the backyard and even started the dig tonight in the deep end. One nice thing is that they hit NO caliche
man am I so excited since I'm doing a depth of 7feet and the excavator was excited as well. So it looks like they will dig tomorrow and be done on Saturday. I will post pictures just as soon as photo bucket stops acting up

Will...congrats on the dig! And especially on the no caliche! That is a good thing for the budget, and with you being so close to our house, I figured you would have some. Time to play mountain goat for a few weeks, I really longed for the day I had a relatively "flat" surface to walk on again...LOL.
