spa water level

while using my spa the water gradually goes down. inhave attached a picture of what it looked like when we were done using it. it refills when i swap it back to pool mode. what could be causing this?

You must be returning some of the water to the pool when in Spa mode. Check your actuated return valve that it is fully closing off the pool return.

Take a few pictures of your equipment pad. Focus on the return valving. Post pictures of it in Pool mode and one in Spa mode.
Do you use a Spillway circuit for the spa spillover or is that part of your Pool mode?

Great. I suspect you can set up a Spillway circuit and reduce your run time on that feature. It raises your pH when run continuously.

The left side pic is showing the pool return off (normally they put that puck feeder thing on the pool side). The right side pic shows the spa return off. In that picture it appears the valve handle is not parellel with the pipe.

so the knob to the right is pool mode, to the left is spa mode

sorry just did it again and yes pool is to the right and spa is to the left handle

When you look at the handle that is on top of the actuator, you will see the tab that says OFF. The pipe that it is pointing at is OFF. So in the picture you posted that is on the left above, the tab OFF is pointed towards the Pool returns. So the water is being returned to the Spa. The picture on the right is opposite of that.

If that is not true, then there is something amiss with the handle on top of the actuator.
