Some have had luck just soaking them a while in a bleach/water solution in something like a plastic tub - then giving a good rinse
It looks white- holding it up to the sunlight might reveal dark spots on the inside, thats how my intex hoses were. Kinda like seeing the level through a white bleach jug.
Just took it all apart and didn’t see any evidence of algae in there. Starting to go crazy! Starting day 6 of SLAM and OCLT was still 4 ppm. Pool is crystal clear and have looked at everything: skimmer, weir door, sheer, drain covers, etc. Any other ideas?

SLAM Process can take 1 week to a few weeks.

The more often you test and get your FC back up to 28 the faster it will go.

With the hot water check your CYA level at least every week and correct your SLAM FC level if your CYA decreases.
Day 6 of SLAM. Still losing FC. Pool looks as crystal clear as day 1. Looked through every nook and cranny for hidden algae. Nothing. What next?!?

So you’re running slam level fc through the sheer descents for a couple hours every day? If not, do so.
Any auto fill or overflow drain?

No I haven’t been running the sheer. I will do so. I do have autofill and it hisses. I looked into that and probably need to buy a better one.

Put rubber gloves on, pour some bleach in the autofill and scrub! Got a bottle brush?
We’ll be out of town Friday-Sunday so my plan is to have the house sitter throw some bleach in morning and night, turn on the SWG, and hope for the best.

UPDATE: Took apart the pool cleaner and found a bunch of yellow film like stuff in the inner workings. Currently soaking in a chlorine bath and will scrub scrub scrub.

Is this my culprit? What am I dealing with? Would have done pics but forgot before I soaked it.
