Yep! You can use a dumbbell to help you stay down. DO NOT ATTACH WEIGHT TO YOUR PERSON!!! Have a rescue swimmer with you. MAKE SURE THE PUMP IS OFF!!!

No.

What kind of filter do you have? I'm assuming cartridge. You should clean your filters, note clean pressure. When pressure rises 25%, clean again. Both during slam and normal operations.
Just scrubbed all those things you suggested. Zero algae anywhere. I’m at a loss!

When you check pressures, you should run your pump at high speed. You *likely* will never see a pressure rise at low speed.

You might fill out your signature so we know what equipment we are dealing with...

And I’m confused about signature. This is what I see on my end.

Those are nicheless so you should be ok there.
Yeah just bizarre. Keep losing FC but everything seems good. Small algae bloom in the corner last week and nothing since. Crystal clear. Maybe just residual but still odd I’m losing that much FC. I’ll keep slamming.

The vegetation in the wall behind the pool and the rocks can all be an algae breeding ground with occasional runoff into the pool or small leaks of water around the back wall.

Plantings that close to the edge of the pool are never a good idea.

You need to keep that area sterile from things growing in and on it.

I see what looks like Efflorescence - Further Reading on the tile and grout on the waterline under the wall that indicates water is coming from the rock planting area into the pool.

Splitface rocks can also be a breeding ground for algae.

That entire area needs chlorine solution baths.

& check your pool cleaner as well as it’s hose.
The corrugated hoses can sometimes harbor funky stuff since they’re not always fully filled with water on the inside and or things grow when they aren’t hooked up.

After going through all the potential spots give an Overnight Chlorine Loss Test a shot to see where you stand.
Are you keeping
PoolMath logs?
If so - turn on sharing in the settings.

How does one do a chlorine solution bath?

Any of the river rock behind the pool wall have tinges of green or black on them?

Thanks. I use Pool Math but I doesn’t let me log. I think I have to pay for that. Last night I slammed to 28 FC at 8pm and this morning at 5:30am it was 24.5 FC so still have some ocl. But it has been improving every single day. So do I just take apart everything I can on the hose? Idk if I’ll be able to see anything in the hose. How would I clean that out?

Some have had luck just soaking them a while in a bleach/water solution in something like a plastic tub - then giving a good rinse
It looks white- holding it up to the sunlight might reveal dark spots on the inside, thats how my intex hoses were. Kinda like seeing the level through a white bleach jug.

Thanks. Just had my lowest FC drop so I am getting more optimistic. Went from 28 FC to 26.5 in 3 hours.
