Slam didn't work, I'm trying

"IF" the pool store copper reading is correct (store testing is always questionable), it got in there somehow. Maybe local water supply or plumbing? No heater for your pool? You can continue with the SLAM Process until you pass all 3 SLAM criteria. After the SLAM, allow the FC level to fall below 10 to normal levels. If the shiny green tint remains, it's copper and can only be removed by exchanging some water.

You want to be outdoors in bright sunlight.

Very roughly speaking, direct overhead sunlight is around 100,000 lux, strong indirect light (i.e. shaded from the sun) is around 10,000 lux, an overcast sky is around 1000-5000 lux but varies on how overcast (which is why a bright white cloud overcast is still OK), indoors is usually < 1000 even in a bright kitchen (more typically 500 lux).

Makes a big difference in results. Indoor will be a lower CYA result than in bright sunlight.

Ok, I'll do that. Thanks

Ok. It was olive green. When I receive the tf-100 I tested the CYA and it was not 70 as the pool store said. I removed and replaced water and now it's 75 or 80. I'll send u another pic.

I have a dark blue liner. The green looks different by the walls.

The liner and angle of the sun can certainly make the water look different. Unless you simply want to exchange water, you can continue with the SLAM. If you ever see dark black staining, then that would confirm copper. Otherwise, let's try to be optimistic and think "algae-only". :) if your CYA is 70, maintain the FC of 28. If your CYA is 80, increase the FC to 31. It will work on the algae.

Ok thank you! Trust me, if I see anything brown or black I'll post immediately, lol.

FYI and future reference if needed, the link below is to Weatherford's 2021 annual water report. There is some copper locally, but might not be enough for concern. Let's see how the SLAM progresses in the next day or two. If we need to circle-back and think about copper, I'll tag one of our experts to review that report.

We actually get our water from the City of Hudson Oaks.

Yes it is. Dated 2019

Pam, what were you using to chlorinate your pool up til now? Was it bychance Clorox XtraBlu tablets?
I just vacuumed to wasted 1.5 feet of water. I don't know if I can add acid with a FC of 20 or not. I use Magic Acid. I think the 24 oz of blue clarifier is the reason the chlorine can't do its job. I knew I shouldn't have listen to that guy!
