Recommended Levels Question

Hello,
Based on everything I can find, ideal FC for a SWG should be around 5/6 with a CYA of 70. The pool math app is telling me recommended FC of 1-3. Why would this be and can it be updated?

Be sure you have your CYA of 70 entered into the Poolmath test results.
I suggest you read ABC's of Pool Water Chemistry.

No my CYA is currently 3, working on raising that. So the recommended FC will change if I log a higher CYA in APP?

There is no such thing as a CYA of 3. You must have a pool store test. They make up numbers when your results are out of range of their equipment.

You need your own test kit. See Test Kits Compared

I bought the Lamotte ColorQ7, why isn’t their such a thing as 3? Is it essentially zero or that tests don’t properly read under a certain level?

A CYA level under 20 or 30 is not readable. No matter what a test result says.

The ColorQ is Ok for low FC and ph readings. The rest of the test results are very suspect.

I suggest you get a drop based test kit as described in the link I provided.
