Pump Sizing Help Requested Please

Hello all,
I’m hoping to get some advice from the experts here.
*I think the original pump/motor was overkill for this size pool, it was a Hayward Matrix pump and Hayward/Century 2HP, 2 speed motor 3450/1700RPM. The plan to replace noisy bearings changed when I found the front shaft corroded to about 1/2 its original diameter.

Would someone be kind enough to advise and recommend an efficient pump/motor?
- Horse Power?
- GPM?
- Single/Dual Speed?
- Any other misc. advice?

Pool Details:
Pool is 8000 gal. Oval 12x24, above ground
It has 150 sq. ft. cartridge filter
Changes since original equipment was installed 10 years ago…
I added a gas heater last year (2" inlet/outlet) and all the flexible hose was removed and plumbed with ridged PVC all 1 1/2".
120VAC 20AMP power at pump site
Pool is in western Pennsylvania

10 years here - 10 years BBB!
Thanks in advance and very appreciated!

Variable speed. Single Speed and 2 speed pumps are being phased out.

A ~1.5 hp VS pump should work fine. You can get a Pentair etc or look at off brands like Calimar, Circupool, etc.

Hello mknauss,
Thank you very much for the fast reply!

I've done some research and found some options. However, the Speck E71-ll VHV seems to fit the specific needs with:
- side discharge
- dual power, (works with my existing 120v twist lock)
- It's in the $675+/- price range

Additional question to you or any other readers before I pull the trigger...

QUESTIONS
Are there any good/bad comments on the Speck E71-ll VHV pump?
Is there a better side discharge, 120 volt, $675ish alternative?
Finally, if the E71-ll VHV is the way to go... is there a TFP sponsor reseller that would like my business?

Thanks again TFP!
