Hello! We are getting ready to sign contract with a pb and looking for input on pool finish. Planning on a freeform gunite pool with tanning ledge. We visited some pools built by our builder and liked the smoothness of pebblefina but have some concerns about it mottling. If the pebblefina is prone to mottling anyway, are there reasons we should go with that vs just doing tinted plaster?

The pool surface finish shouldn't "mottle" if its's done properly. Therein lies the rub, though - it's almost impossible to get a good plaster job done anymore (I have no idea why). You can figure on having surface imperfections no matter what, so choose accordingly.
