Today we poured the equipment pad and some planter borders and set the first course of 5 steps that lead out of the sunken bar. The borders will be hidden under the composite decking but we needed something to support the decking and keep the gravel underneath it from going into the planters.

Brush finish on the concrete pad or an acid finish? Or do you plan to tile the equipment pad with the Abalone shell tiles ?
We did a brush finish. We are saving the shell tiles for the walls. Jkjk

Mike lost the edger tool at some point after the countertop - he's says our dog stole it. Either way the edges are a little rough but it'll all be hidden behind a wall anyways so oh well.

No marks. It was found in a lowes bag in the backyard. My guess is one of the twins put it there
