New to pools, pool guy seems to have done nothing for us

Make sure you post more pictures when you get home from work this afternoon. We love to see progress here...
I don't think there will be much change, I think since last week there has been a slight change in clarity now that I have a working filter system but it's very slow progress.
What you should see next is the trend towards blue now. After that it will be on the filter to clear up the stuff in the water.

Kim did you see my post about the leaky pipe? Any idea where to get those parts? I don't think that's something Lowes would have, and I'm really not looking forward to going back to a pool store anytime soon!

Inyopools carries many parts. Though if that union just needs an oring, Lowes and Home Depot normally have a good selection. Be sure to use pool lube (Magic Lube 2 is one) on the oring.
So I'm having a bit of trouble figuring this out.
Could I buy this part to replace this and just fit a 1 1/2" schedule 40 PVC pipe into it? I'm assuming I'd need another elbow and coupler maybe. I have no trouble working on PVC pipe jobs.

If you are comfortable working with PVC you should be able to replace that leaking union with a new one from any local home improvement store, like Home Depot, Lowe's, Menards.
You want your FC at 12 as much as possible so add some chlorine now and then again before you go to bed. We are at war with chlorine! Fire another shot or two to help it die!!
Use Pool Math (link in my siggy below) to find out how much please. I don't know how much your bottle holds so don't want to mess you up.
FC this morning was at 13, I did a whole bottle last night since I knew I wouldn't be able to add any during the day today.
I feel like I'm making progress because the filter for the past 2 days has only climbed to 20 PSI from 5am to 5:30pm. My eyes may be playing tricks on me but I think it's slightly clearer.
I also found some spare parts in good shape in the garage, I think I may have found a spare return fitting! I'm going to install it tonight and see how well it holds on a new filter. I'll test when I get home and see where we're at with chlorine.
I should have taken a picture of the hairnet after I pulled it out of the skimmer...soooo many bugs.
