That is actually great news because foreclosures are sold "as is."
However, there's a chance in YOUR deal with the slackers that if you did need to replace the vinyl, you could have a case for collection. Was there a clause in the offer about the pool being in working condition?
If you can see the vinyl, how does it look?
The vinyl looks pretty good except for the weird white patch. The pool was disclosed as unknown since he didn't open it. We knew it could be a complete loss. Grateful it's been good so far.

Here are some pics....this is about 9 days into TFP method. [emoji12]
It doesn't look like progress in the deep end but it is. I can see the bottom and I couldn't before.
Hope it's not much longer to SLAM.
And you can see my white spot in the picture of the deep end. Pretty certain it's chemical damage to the liner. The clearer it gets and the fact that it doesn't change when I brush, vacuum or rake it and the texture is different really leads me to believe that it's from chemicals eating at the liner. Fingers crossed it will hold up for a while!
I cannot wait for the sparkly clear you all have

Heather I would stay away from the white area with your brush and vacuum. When your slam is done we will address that area again. Just remind me.

Set it somewhere safe and pour a little acid on it. Let us know if it bubbles or sizzles.

Muriatic acid. Someplace safe like on concrete or rocks. Place the white stuff down and try to put just a few drops of acid on it and see fi you get a reaction.

And here is the deep end. I know the photo doesn't show it but I can see the pattern and the main drain. I hope I can get it crystal ckear.

Hi, I haven't read your whole thread, but have you tried a little DE in the sand filter to speed up the clearing?
I have not. I know it said not the gardening kind. Is the pool kind ok?

The pool kind is what you want. Instructions are in pool school. It doesn't take alot but I have found it really helps - especially on the foreclosure pools that I've done. They are stubborner (is that a word?) than most pools, I don't know why that is.
