Tomorrow is coping and electrical. Oh, and as the pictures show, we started to stain our fence at the beginning of the season and then got delayed by weather, and then life. But we will definitely be finishing the stain as soon as we can.

Nice, neat equipment pad. I like it. I think I've become a little OCD about neat equipment/plumbing. Strange, huh? LOL

Oh, and the tile looks good too!!

Maddie :flower:

Thanks Maddie  I thought the same thing when my husband sent me the picture... Wow, everything is lined up very neatly! My husband is OCD and if it hadn't been he would have said something. But we have been very happy with the quality of all the work, and haven't needed to step in at all. Which I am thanking my lucky stars for after reading some of the horror stories on this site!

WOW Kimber1...your PB has wasted no time at all. Things are going so smooth and you have made very good choices. Congrats now beat the rain thats a coming.

I kept looking at the equipment pad as well. Loving the unions and good valves. There is a lot of room to work on anything when needed.

Kimber are they putting a light out there by the equipment? If not look in to it. You or hubby will thank me later LOL

So for around the pipes and such you can use roofing felt as weed barrier. Then put pretty river rock over it. You do not want to have to use a weed eater by those pipes.

LOVE the tile! That is MY color! What color are you using for the grout?

Hi Kim! GREAT idea about the light! We will definitely do that... I never even thought of lighting over there. And I love your idea of the pipes!

Here are a couple of better pictures that I took of the tile when I got home today. I absolutely love the variations of turquoise, blue and grey/browns in this tile! I think the PB is doing a dark grey grout. Will that look okay?

I like that color of grout as it helps blend the tile together instead of making them stand out a piece at a time.

Kim:kim:

I agree, I think the grey grout will tie everything in nicely!

It's crazy how much rain we've had this year!

It seems like the rain is coming right when we started our build! lol

Also I have gone back to my very first post and added more details, pictures, and started a timeline of the process (which I will keep adding to until the build is completed).

Today was electrical... KimKats, notice anything interesting?! [emoji39]

I spy with my little eye a LIGHT! You will so thank me on the rainy night you have to work on the equipment pad that you have it! BUT of course since you have it you will never need to use it LOL so there is that side of it too!

Did they even blink when you asked for it? Do you know to put a yellow bulb into to help not attract the bugs?

I LOVE your new av. pic! So pretty and that fella is mighty handsome as well!

I knew you would see it quickly! They actually thought it was a good idea when I requested it [emoji39].

Another great idea on the yellow light, I wouldn’t have thought of that.

And thank you for the compliment! That’s me and my husband on our wedding day, almost four years ago. And he really is a handsome specimen!! [emoji7][emoji7][emoji7]. I still pinch myself that he’s all mine [emoji39].

Fingers crossed... today is supposed to be coping.

So I was hoping for coping to be done today. But my husband said they won’t start until tomorrow. It is supposed to take a week to install the stone on the sides of the pool, the spillway, and coping.

But we have a ton of rain in the forecast starting on Sunday, so anything left after tomorrow will be delayed.

Here are pictures I took of the Oklahoma Stone out in our yard. This is for the coping.

OMG! :eek:Oklahoma stone and a SWCG!?! Ha! Good for your!!!! How did you find any PB in Texas to do that?! It seems that every Pool Owner that comes on here either their PB will not do it, or their neighbors claim the salt water has corroded everything but their teeth, etc!!

Great job -- been fun watching.

Our PB is actually the one who designed the pool with the Oklahoma stone coping. They wanted to tie the pool into our existing Oklahoma stone patio we had done last year. And they actually told us that SWCG was a great choice... both the owner (who is a structural engineer) and his son (who does all of the 3-D renderings and designs the pools) have SWCG and love it.

On top of that, our next door neighbor has Oklahoma stone coping and SWCG that was built almost 10 years ago and he has had zero problems with any corrosion on his coping or his patio furniture. He had traditional plaster and told us he wished he had gone with pebbletec because his plaster already needs to be re-done. My boss also told me to go with pebble plaster and said that his 12 year old pool already had to be re-plastered and he was going with pebble plaster. So we specifically requested that when we spoke with the PB and we are glad we did.

I don't understand all of the stories I see on the forum with people talking about corrosion. All of the people I know with SWCG have never complained and love their pools to this day. The only complaint I've heard is that sometimes the oversplash from the pool has damaged plants or grass.

I think we really lucked out with our PB!
