They said they put a large larbage bag over the water flow with holes in it as to not disturb the plaster. They said that's how they do it cause they cNt get thier hose in the deep end. That ok?

Should I hose fill and the next day getcthe trucks cause the plaster will be harder?

You know what else you could use instead of a plastic bag is a pillow case with slits cut in it to spread the spray out....We just don't want a strong, narrow spray of water hitting any one place in the pool.

Only reason was because hey want it filled within 24 hrs.

So so should I just hose fill maybe? I think that was the plan with the garbage bag I guess. I have a call into them.

Is is it normal for them to not getcthe hose down in the pool with truck filling?

Jim, what is the biggest container you have at your house? Get that container or bucket out and put it by your house and tie a rag around the end of the house just like you would do for filling a pool. We will use a 10 gallon bucket for the example below
If it takes your hose 30 seconds to fill the 10 gallons then your hose fills at a pace of 20 gallons per minute which is 1200 gallons an hour. At that rate you could fill 6000 gallons in 5 hours. As the the type of person I am I hate to be wasteful so I personally based off my water pressure test would order 1 truck short then as they start the fill would drop my hose in the deep end once they start and wait my few hours for the pool to finish once the trucks are done.
Now keep in mind it takes the trucks an hour plus to empty all 3 trucks so you will have a head start if you start at the same time as them which will limit your wait time lol. And in my pool I was getting around 800 gallons an hour. 1200 is high but I used the example since it makes for clean math based on your example and to give others folks an idea when they read in the future.

Not many people truck in water so I really don't know what is "normal" for it. If you want to do a guessamite on how long it would take to fill from your hoses you can time how long it take to fill a 5 gal bucket and do the math.

Do what works best for you and your pool. Just keep in mind different ways to diffuse the water if yo use a truck. We want the pretty plaster to stay pretty!

Will I was going to stick with the 3 trucks as to not waste like u said.

When you guys guys talk about the towel around the hose. Not covering the water flow just covering the metal pretty much right?

You want to cover the tip of the hose so no metal touches the plaster so it doesn't scratch your new finish. It doesn't really slow the flow from your hose.
 
I talked to a builder down in the phili area who uses aquaduck and he said they r really good. Said I'll have no problem with them so I'll get 3 trucks and fill inbetween trucks and after to finish it off. I'll use the towel like u guys said also. Should be ok I'm thinking. I trust who I talked to. So we will see.

ya i guess no reason to worry about it. i have 3 trucks orders for after 2 that day. oh ya plaster is set for the 15th! did i mention that? lol

i hope we hit it. my one man show has 60 pieces of coping left to cut. then they need to be set and grouted. shell needs to be cleaned out and all holes and stuff need to be hydraulically sealed. oh and ALL equipment still needs to be hooked up and wired in?

possible? as of now without any rain plan is to have all the coping completely done by saturday. so that means mon through next fri all cleanup of shell and all pool equipment.

i'm kinda worried but he keeps saying no problem.

on a lighter note i took my daughter for large mouth bass for the first time tonight. big bass. it was a loaded trip though. we went to a farm pond that is heavily cared for and monitored. the bass here huge. i have no idea how we didn't loose her pole. she almost got pulled in. lol awesome night. she crushed it. 3, 16 inchers and a bunch of 12-13 inch ones. there is carp in there too. so we fed them some bread so she could see them. they were huge! like 30 plus lb huge. beautiful fish. they moved like dolphins. would come up slowly and grab the bread and pull it under. she loved that. so she deff would rather catch 3-4 big bass anymore vs 20 bluegills. lol i have to get her a new bigger rod. the barbie pole days are over i think. lol i caught 7-8 12 inchers. one bigger one, but i was watching her most of the night and baiting her up. we went through 2 dozen minnows. i wish i had bought more. i never go through so many that quick. oh and she caught a turtle. we kept loosing bait . they would hit. then bounce back up with just he head left. i figured channel cats. smaller ones but it was the same place time after time. so then i took over and when it hit brought it in really slow like you would with a crab if crabbing. ya turtle. she loved that too. i didn't cause i was the one who needed to deal wit the turtle then.

good night. now i got to take my son. luckily he didn't get upset he wasn't going. i told him next time he comes. i can't handle a 7 and 5 year old together fishing from land. too hard to manage. my wife didn't want to go.

Love the fishing stories. I still remember my first bass that I caught at age 7. Caught her off some jettie rocks in Lake Lanier outside Atlanta, GA. My line got caught in the trolling motor and my brother was saying I didnt have a fish but I was insistent I did. Finally got untangled and my bass was still there. It was a little 8" one but still my first! Very wonderful you are able to build these memories and positive experiences with your kids. As the song says... "and she thinks we're just fishin'..."
 
You are doing an awesome job being a parent. One on one time is SO important! I hope you wife enjoyed her time with your son at the same time!

I will tell you what the kids I teach (Kindergarten) tell me about the most............the attention they get from their parents. They don't really talk about what someone buys them. It mostly about we did this, we talked about that kind of things. Make memories to last a lifetime!

thanks guys. i appreciate the compliments. they both love to go. it's so true they talk about time spent vs something given or bought. i was giving my son a shower last night and he was talkign about when we went a few weeks ago and got skunked and when we went for trout. every little detail. i figured he would have been upset when i got back but he was happy. he went for a bike ride with my wife and saw his "girlfriend" at the top of the street. he is obsessed with our neighbors daughter. she is 12 i think. ya he is 5. loves were. she was ovr our place one night when we had a fire. my neighbor was over with her daughter who is good friends with this girl. same grade. my son didn't leave her side. sat right next to her all night. hand on her lap. so freakin' funny. i kept going to my wife his is deff all itialian. lol ladies man. so funny. all night hand on her lap. the 2 girls have so much patients. ya know 12 is tough. they are like i'm way too cool for you by then. but the 2 of them are so good with him. all he talks about. "i'm going up to play with her" all i hear. he has no clue. so funny.
