New contract / New build - SE Pennsylvania, Gunite free form pool and spa

Small but very frustrating update -

1) Still no equipment
2) After days of back and forth email with the Project manager and scheduler, the plumber finally showed up Wednesday to do the rough in plumbing. (Yes, we waited 3 weeks for equipment and still not in). The plumber was there briefly and then left because there was so much mud in the pool he couldn't work around it. Keep in mind I told the PB this many times over email in the last few weeks but they insisted it wouldn't be an issue. I even sent pictures of all the mud in the pool 14 days ago from today.
3) PB promised to get someone out to clean out the hole ASAP - that was 2 days ago and haven't heard anything new since

I'm going to back away from this for a while before I lose my mind....We're coming up on 5 weeks of absolutely nothing done

Need to vent here again - my blood is boiling this morning.

The good - Plumbers came yesterday and got 80% of the plumbing done including the rough in inside the shell.

The bad - Gunite crew showed up today which WOULD be great except that the inspection failed the steel inspection because there is still quite a bit of mud in the pool. This was AFTER a cleanout crew (excavator and all) spent the entire Tuesday cleaning it out. They did attempt to flash the walls end of day tuesday (gunite truck was here) but it downpoured at 5PM of course. The "failure" is legitimate though since there really is still quite a bit of dirt in there.

Add to that - The crew of 8 men came in this morning with the expectation they would have to remove some mud first. Once they saw the pool they said they wouldn't be able to pull it off and shoot the pool so instead of even trying they just packed up and left. Sylvan now can not make a committment when they'll be able to get a gunite crew here again. They are going to attempt to at least flash the walls today but have not confirmed a crew yet.

Add to that - after coming out today they discovered the wrong light niches are here (they are for hayward lights not pentair) add cannot shoot the pool without them - also no ETA on the parts.

Add to that - Still no heater or multiport valve here

GURRRRRRRRRR!!! What a mess.

Wow.. this is just terrible.. weather was impacting me as well but not nearly as bad.

I'm glad I made it to this stage before those big storms in our region happened this past week. My filled in yard is a huge and I mean HUGE mud pit right now.

Honestly, I'm just exhausted at this point. Our landscaper stopped by and offered his crew to help clean out the pool - and he followed through they are cleaning it out now which is very hard work. Of course rain is in the schedule so it might go to waste unless they can flash the walls soon. :(

I know you feel my pain though - you've gone through the same yourself!!

This is such a bad summer. My yard is a sponge. I was trying to wheel gravel yesterday and kept sinking to the point I was stuck. I just hope all this water around the shell doesn’t affect anything. It’s just bad this year. I hope the winter isn’t ad wet or we r really in trouble with ice and frost.

Buy some cheap lumber & get that wheelbarrow moving!

NO!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is horrible to hear! As well as very hard to understand how they could mess up that bad :(

It has been a rough year overall for weather - spring and summer included. Coupled that with backed up subs and poor planning/scheduling it's been pretty tough!

Some progress though! The PB had guys here all day yesterday and even at 545 am today to clean out the pool and even got the walls flashed with gunite. We're on the schedule to shoot next week but have to pass inspection first. :) Our township guy is great - he's a perfectionist and won't let them do it unless it's 100%.

Check out the pic below - look how much the wall had eroded in the deep end. There was a LOT to clean up.
