New build in Gilbert, AZ

Great info here. Outside sound is a must for my upcoming build. I am actually thinking about keeping the AMP/Receiver outside. Otherwise I am not sure where inside I could locate it to then run the wires outside. Any thoughts on that?

i have no idea what ur access or house is setup as.

Me i I have racks in my finished basement in a hall. 1 is for my dedicated theatre andxtjexother is forcthe pool/outside and basement audio video. I ran wires from there to where I needed them. I close in winter so why I wanted everything indoors. U won’t be so outside would be totally fine if covered and out of elements. U doing a pool house or structure that is covered? If doing a kitchen u can locate equipment in there.

Control will need need to be looked at if inside. My audio from nuvo is on an app so no issue. The video outside is controlled via my home automation so that all can be inside also.

I am trying to get more clarification on the automation. I think he showed me brochures on EasyTouch and then put IntelliConnect on contract by mistake or to try and help my budget. I am pretty sure I want EasyTouch and am trying to find out if that is what he is actually installing or if I need to pay extra to change something. The way we talked about my water feature, led light, and heat pump being fully integrated and able to add SWG later made me think we were getting and needed the EasyTouch. I should know more soon. Thanks again for the help and guidance.

The Intelliconnect is for a simple pool. It will control the pump and SWCG (to a total of 4 pool devices). It can control two on/off devices (like lights). I do not believe it will control valve actuators.

when i said automation i didn't mean pool automation. i was talking about my automation for my home that i control all my video with.

A few changes to my project. I was able to change the contract and remove Bioshield and Intelliconnect and add Easy Touch 4 with screen logic and kick in a few hundred dollars. The ET 8 seemed a little overkill. Excavation was supposed to start 8-31-18 and delayed until today. This was before I left for work this morning:

So far, so good. A bigger mess on the side of my house than expected, but they did tell me it would be wrecked. They also found a mystery piece of pvc that must have been left by the builder or back when it was farmland. We couldn’t find that it has any use.

Don’t you love the “dirt” here in AZ? It’s better then clay when it comes to forming your pool. You can already see what it’s going to look like.

And as as far as your yard being a mess, it’s only going to get worse from here!! So take lots of pictures and have cold ones on standby, because in a few short months when it’s all done, you’ll be able to look back and laugh. Enjoy the journey!!

I am next door to Seville in Shamrock Estates. The pool width is as big as we could make it without tearing into our grass. We also liked stopping there in case we sell and future owners have small children; it will be easier to fence off and still have plenty of space for little ones and pets. Our main deck area will be south of the pool next to the house because there is not much room for deck elsewhere.

I would have liked to make it bigger (mostly longer), but life is full of compromise. The first pool I designed was $65k and our budget was $40k. We also wanted some room in budget for landscaping and furniture, etc.

Well hi neighbor ! We are in Adora Trails.

We almost built there but found a larger plot at the time in Shamrock.

The PB got quite a bit more done today, so they are making up for not starting on Friday as planned. There is some equipment placed and more on my back patio. The Easytouch system is here and not the “L” version
it is this with screen logic https://sunplay.com/products/pentair-easy-touch-control-system-520591

the heat/cool pump is not here yet. I guess it goes next to the filter. The PB said he would be here tomorrow to look at the plumbing

I imagine these subs are bouncing back and forth between you house, mine and my neighbors. All with Pegasus! They put in most the plumbing and equipment yesterday and the rebar guy showed up this morning.

Can you tell me why the "Lite" version of the EasyTouch4 is not the way to go. I asked for the full automation and I see the Lite version is sitting outside to be installed. Much thanks!

DO NOT let them install the 'Lite' ET!!!

It restricts your controls. It does not have the power center in it so you have to have another box for your breakers, etc.

Are you getting a SWCG?

I am sure that you are correct on the subs bouncing between our two Gilbert, AZ projects, aham23.

I do not have the Lite version and confirmed by looking up the model number for what is sitting on my patio. When I told the PB I didn't want the "L" version, he said it wouldn't work for what I wanted anyway. I am not getting SWCG yet, but should have room to add later. I haven't updated here for a bit because of my wedding anniversary and short getaway. I have steel and a lot of electric in place (the light and the bonding done). I had a small problem with the steel and they were out today to fix. I was not happy with one plumbing issue, but I hope that is resolved today or tomorrow. I think my initial inspection is tomorrow and the gunite should happen Thursday or Friday.

Are you adding on a wireless kit so you can control it from a phone app or computer?

Yes, I added the screen logic.

My missing parts arrived yesterday and they fixed my steel and said they would take care of my plumbing issue. The only thing that has not arrived on site is the heat/cool pump. If the inspector gets out today, they hope to have shotcrete done this week.
