Just found this thread a couple of minutes ago while searching for information around quartzscape.

I am in the 12th day of my pool build. So far long pipe has been finished.

I have 18 helical piers, no.4 rebar with 8x8.

I am on thr fence on quartzscape but wanted to see if anyone can convince me to go with it.

Hi and welcome! I am going to post a couple of posts to this thread.

Here is a thread that was put together to show off different plasters. I hope this helps you find one you will like:

Here is a set of links I put together for new pool builds. It is a LOT of info so take it one piece at a time:
Plaster links:
Ten Guidelines for Quality Pool Plaster Best one of all
All Plaster Finishes Should Last 20 Years
Not All Color Pigments are Good for Pools How to pick a good color for plaster.
A Plastering 'Watch List' | Professional Watershaping | Watershapes
Trouble Free Pool
Trouble Free Pool

Pool care links:
Print these out:
Pool School - Basic Pool Care Schedule
Pool School - Recommended Levels

Bookmark these:
Pool School - Recommended Pool Chemicals
Trouble Free Pool
Pool School - ABCs of Pool Water Chemistry

Now is also a good time to ask what test kit your PB will be providing so we can fill in any holes.

Thank you Kim, as far as a test kit, what does that mean?

Here are the latest updates: started coping, reconnected gutters and drainage, finished electrical, started pergola formation.

Had to fire up the grill just can't wait.20230428_115959.jpg20230425_180601.jpg20230430_195615.jpg20230429_231311.jpg

Looks good and welcome! I'm curious on the piers, did an engineer say that you needed them? Ours recommended them but fortunately when they started to install them they bedrock unexpectedly and I got 10k back in my budget.

I didn't do any soil samples as everyone in my neighborhood has them installed. Also I live right next to the lake and my adjacent neighbors told me to do it as others in the area who didn't get them experience shifting and one had to get their pool lifted.

More progress today and week 3 hasn't even finished yet. Slab poured and pergola posts set, water features starting to form, and concrete slabs for the deck coming to life.20230504_152526.jpg20230504_132905.jpg20230504_152538.jpg

Wanted to get a head start on the pool maintenance, I am looking at the dolphin vacuum, I have SWG so is there a good article on what I should do when I start the pool. Also any recommendations for pool brush and any other brushes would I need such as auto fill, lights, skimmers, etc?

More progress, ran the audio cables, electrician coming tomorrow and pool equipment is getting installed tomorrow. Received samples of stonescape, quartzscape.20230605_194001.jpg20230605_194003.jpg20230605_194014.jpg20230605_194128.jpg

Have they installed this yet (tan box on the side of the house)? If not, I would do your research on this as I believe it is the "Lite" version with a lot less capabilities for little to no cost savings. Your builder is trying to sneak in really old technology on you. Push for the Intellicenter or at least the regular EasyTouch.
