Paypal said it could take 3 days to get it worked out.

I contacted Hayward to try and get a replacement to the replacement cell. Come to find out I got it and registered it on 11/13/2024 so it only lasted 2.5 months. Instead of 5. My timing is always off.

I will confirm that trying to use Paypal with DSP is a pain in the arse. I got bamboozled when I bought mine and thought that DSP was offering a 4 payment plan. I got tricked by Paypal and it was their "plan" but it didn't even work. I had to cancel my Paypal order and use a card to buy it.

That is my plan. I'm watching to make sure they cancel it. Then will just pay when my income tax comes in hopefully Thursday.

Do you have an Aquatrol HP or RJ system?

Do you have solid schedule 40 PVC plumbing?

How is your Aquatrol cell mounted?

RJ, schedule 40 and mounted verticle.. was installed by professional pool installer.

I see in the link you posted the t5 cell the installer put in is to small for my pool only rated for less than 10k. I'm not surprised now that it quits after a few months. And see that I can in fact just add the t15 for 40k. But can't select the right cell. From what i read on the hayward site before. You have to change cell type to get the box to give the right readings.

How do you intend to control the timing of your pump and the Circupool SWG?

Are you going to make the plumbing and electrical changes?

The T-cell selection is not available in the AquaTrol models. All you have to do is to install the jumper across the J4 solder pads and you are set to use the T-15 cell.

Changing to a T-15 cell will be a lot less work then changing to the Circupool SWG.

I already have a manual timer and don't use the built in one. The only thing I need to do is take the current one out and wore up the new one. Already down loaded the manual and read it. It shows toy 2 ways to wire it. And the cell van be mounted verticle so it will slide right in where the other one is. I will have to add the flow switch as the aqua trol rj don't require one. But it's odd that there is a light for flow and it came on often.

Hm! So your saying if i do the jumper. I can use the T15 and it will read the salt right. What can I use as a jumper. Just a coated wire? Will see how much the t 15 is.

Any piece of wire will do.

There may be a jumper hanging off of one pin that you just need to slide onto the two pins.

Look at your board…

I found a thread where some one did the t15 conversion. And the box read everything okay. I checked the hayward t15 is $900. But several off brands for around $400. Not sure if they will work as I bought a generic t 5 and it read salt but not accurate and know they said make sure your system reads 1.47 version. I think mine is 1.45.

Have you already tried a generic T-15 cell?

I thought you said your Aquatrol was less than 2 years old.

I don’t know where you read about needing 1.47 on an Aquatrol.

No I have tried a generic t5. And yes pool and system is 1.5 years old. And I'm going to check my version tomorrow to see. If it's 1.45 or 1.47.

I have been reading treads on the conversion here. And read the aqua trol will read the t15 if the soldered J4 jumper. And if i have the 1.47 it will read right. They also suggested getting a extra thermistor but saif if 1.47 it won't need a extra one. Also other threads said generic cells are fine. So this gives me cheaper options.

Update: I almost bought a tcell 15 to try and do jumper. But at the high cost of the hayward cell. And iffy generics. Gave it a day to think about it and hubby said just but the new set up. So I just bit the bullet and bought the whole new system. Circupool rj45+. I had trouble with the DSP site so I found it on Amazon from them. It was $1499 with $100 coupon. So was only a few more dollars than the upgrade on there site.

Should be here Sunday. So excited to get it installed! Cell will fit where my current verticle cell is (already clead with them it can be installed vertically). Only thing I have to add other than the new box is a flow switch.
It goes right after the t cell on way to pool right?

You do not have a spa return. Picture 1 is what you have without the spa return side.
