Hi everyone,

I have done quite about of searching around on the site here but cant quite seem to find exact answers for my questions so I figured I'd make a fresh post. I recently purchased a Hayward Proflow Matrix Dual-Speed pump and a Hayward 18in sand filter to replace the original Intex pump and sand filter that came with my 12x24 XTR pool. My issue is converting the pool plumping to work with the new pump and filter. I know the fittings with Hayward are 1.5in and it seems the Intex are a bit smaller, 1.25in perhaps? It would likely be the post simple to keep the Intex valves at the inlets and the jet as well as the hoses and just convert them but I cannot seem to find fittings that would convert to the Hayward correctly. Can someone please help me in the right direction?

Thanks!

In an ideal scenario (time & money permitting) it would be great to just convert all the Intext stuff to rigid PVC so it would all be sturdy, reliable, and uniform in size. But if that's not possible right now, you'll need to find the adapter to go from 1.5" to something like 1.25" or 40mm. I'll poke around to try and find it. Many others have done it here on the forum as well. I know the parts are here somewhere.

Thanks for the info @Texas Splash. If I understand you correctly a temporary fix is to get the Intex stuff converted to Hayward size via that adaptor or something similar and then longer term swap it all out to PVC. Main issue is that this adaptor wouldnt arrive at my location until Saturday and i need to at least get everything running before then for a party. Any thoughts on what a local hardware store or Menards/Lowes could do to get me by?

I seem to recall some members seasons ago had some luck getting parts locally to mate-up from the local hardware store ,but it's a matter of trial and error. Take what you have now (fittings) and do your best to get them to match. Some locations don't always stock the same.
