Hi, I’m Cliffa and I live in Oklahoma City. I purchased what I thought was my forever home last July. The only thing it didn’t have was a pool. So I found a couple of contractors, one was a new company that built gunite pools, the other built inground pools that were lined. The gunite was more expensive but we chose it. What a nightmare. This salt water gunite pool has done nothing but cost me a fortune. It’s been months and months of treating it with chemicals and it still isn’t stabilized. It has already been drained once, rebuffed because of the scaling @ a cost of $2k, every day or two we are taking the water sample to Leslie’s Pool and Spa for testing only to be told it needs something different or more of something. I’m expecting the police to show up due to all the muratic acid we’ve purchased! 89 oz added yesterday and just today I’m told another 60 oz is needed. It’s ridiculous! We’re still brushing it daily also. We are soooo over this saltwater pool that we were told was going to be so easy to take care of. We’re ready to sell this house all because of this new pool! #HELP

Good news - you found the right place. TFP methods are both easy and inexpensive. The "pool industry" is a joke with bad science, bad faith, etc.

TFP methods rely on self-testing and using the right chemicals (purchased at Wal-mart, Amazon, etc) and staying out of the pool stores. Fundamental to TFP methods are the relationship and science behind how free chlorine and cyanuric acid (stabilizer) need to co-exist.

Get a proper test kit, report your results, and there are many dozens of experts here to help you.
