Hello everyone!.
So I just put my pool up a few weeks ago and filled it with artesian well water tossed in a floater with hockey puck from Clorox inside and just let it ride . It's just my wife and I so it's small (14ft diameter and 42"deep...about 3k gallons) we haven't used it allt hat much.but I am kinda obsessive about clearing leaves, vacuuming silt and rinsing the skimmer/pump filter.
It started to turn green at the very bottom about a week ago so i after a half gallon of bleach didn't help I added a shock yesterday. The green is gone but today it's cloudy and my test is still saying low chlorine, low, bromide and high pH. I obviously need to add bromine, at least I think... Not sure if the shock would take care of that t
What should I doT

Welcome to TFP!!!

First thing you need is a recommended kit, if you don't already have one. Link-->Test Kits Compared

Add 3ppm of liquid chlorine per day until the kit arrives.

When the kit arrives, post a full set of results, and start the SLAM process. Link-->SLAM Process

No, chlorine only. The test kit I have has the red chemical and OCO is it? I don't have it handy. Anyways, a red cap and a yellow capped bottle. I add 4 drops of the red capped solution to one cylinder and 4 drops of the yellow capped vial to the other. They're side by side each side with it's color chart for PH and Chlorine (or bromide i guess, if I used that instead... thanks for that catch, I don't even know what bromide is 😅) it seems easy enough to test with. I suppose I have some reading to do, I just bought the whole pool as a kit, a cheap 14' x 42' Funsicle above ground vinyl pool with a metao frame that came with a cheesy pump and filter setup lol

Welcome to the forum!
You may want to consider following Seasonal Pools
It does not need the extensive testing kit. But will require you to drain the pool if the water chemistry allows the water to become cloudy or you over treat with CYA.

It's clearing up rather quickly and the PH has dropped down a bit but its still high atIMG_20240908_170849809.jpgIMG_20240908_170915571.jpg 7.8, chlorine has risen to about 1.5. I'm gonna give that second shock a day or two and hopefully it keeps getting better!
