Anyone have thoughts or feedback on a slide for an in-ground pool? Thinking about getting it for my new build since we have young ones. Think it would be fun for them . Thanks
The young ones will grow up quickly and then the slide will sit there forever and rot away.Anyone have thoughts or feedback on a slide for an in-ground pool? Thinking about getting it for my new build since we have young ones. Think it would be fun for them . Thanks
Keep in mind that many towns on Long Island have different regulations regarding the placement of equipment to pass inspection. It’s the pool builder’s responsibility to confirm these requirements. The minimum distance I recall is typically 3-5 feet from the property line, but some towns, like Oyster Bay, require around 10 feet. I believe the Town of Islip has a 4-foot requirement. So I think I found a good spot for my equipment pad and really the only spot. The only problem is there's some branches that come close to being over it from my neighbor's yard. I guess I could trim them but is there any reason I couldn't build or put some type of overhead shield above the equipment pad to prevent debris and other stuff from falling on it?
Great unitended point that if building a protective cover, it would be treated as any structure or shed and may have its own setback requirements on top of the equipment rules.Keep in mind that many towns on Long Island have different regulations regarding the placement of equipment to pass inspection. Will do.74,
How about some pics so we can see what we have to work with..
Thanks,

That's nice. is that astro turf?We built a pool a few years ago - the one feature my wife wanted was a slide... She uses it almost every time we use the pool. She is a kid at heart!

Some like them, I am on team thicc.I believe is way too thin.
Mine was nominal, $350 maybe ? Peanuts for a more durable liner holding all the water, IMO.They said it would be an upcharge for thicker liner.
Looploc traditionally has 20 and 28. Certain patterns are only available in one or the other. Is there a middle ground of thickness I can go without going 28 that would make sense?
congratulations .. let the fun begin. who did you choose? i think go with thicker liner. So I signed the contract and one thing I forgot was the liner thickness. They are giving me 20 mil which I believe is way too thin. Doesn't even make sense I believe. They said it would be an upcharge for thicker liner. Ask builder how much extra thicker is. If it's under $500, pay it. Trust me, I understand getting squeezed every last dollar, but the thicker liner is worth a little more.So I signed the contract and one thing I forgot was the liner thickness. I'll be here 6 years in june and don't recall one thread where a thicker liner caused problems. Not to say it doesn't happen, just that it doesn't come up with any kind of regular occurance. So they want $500 for 28 mil. Think I'll do it. Are there more pros then cons?
This is best discussed with the important one. I vote whatever she likes best. Also we've narrowed down to 4 Loop Loc liner designs. 2 of them, I just found out, are fully embossed which the girl said means textured throughout, not just the stairs. Any downsides to having fully embossed?

I see no cons and seeing how we have a 'bag full of water', using a thicker bag is a no brainer IMO.

On a serious note, after 20 something years, me and the Mrs came up with a system with liner #2 thats been working mint since. For any decision with too many or too similar choices, I narrow her choices down to 3 based on her general like, then she gets to pick. Frustrated at the liner book she said 'pick me three blue ones', which i did, and boom it was that simple.
Its saved several headaches since from new light fixtures to a SUV.
