I'm looking into purchasing a saltwater generator. Not looking to break the bank but also want quality. Ive read you want to get 2x the size. Current setup is 19k - 20k estimate. It's a 27 ft x 54 inch. What does everyone recommend

Running pump 24x7. If I have a swg 2x times size of pool do I need to run my pump all the time
Why do you run your pump 24x7 now?

The amount of chlorine you get is a combination of SWG % and pump runtime. Decrease pump runtime and increase SWG %, or vice versa. It does not matter as long as you generate the FC your pool needs.

You need to run your pump for a reason.

Mixing chemicals recently added, filtering, skimming, generating chlorine, heating the pool.

Some of us with VS pumps and SWGs like to run the pump 24x7 at low speed and always add some chlorine to the water.

Ive been looking for a section on sand filter. Plan on replacing sand this year and ive seen post about glass media, filter balls. Ive always used sand is there a chart that explains benefits between different things?

Unless you've added something bad to the filter, there is no need to replace sand. Are you having an issue?
Sand is the best. There is no benefit to glass. DO NOT use filter balls, you are buying a headache.
