Here We Go Again....Pool Build in Magnolia

Jim, as Kim said, you're doing great!
I'm definitely more confident with how the numbers are moving and what I need to do to get them moving thanks to the advice from our forum members with you leading the charge.
This morning's reading
FC 7.5
CC 0
pH 7.7
CYA 55
CH 200
TA 240
Temp 66
CSI .3
The pH was the only big mover here.
I added about .75gals of MA and put in another 4-5lbs of calcium chloride as I undershot a little more than I expected.
The evening's reading showed good improvement

CSI -.13
The FC CYA numbers are pretty close to what I want if I am going off of a non-SWG setting until I can crank up the SWG in a couple of weeks.
I was happy with the pH based on the MA that was added earlier in the day.
My CH and TA numbers are the best part for me as I am going off of mknauss's suggestion of staying below CH 250 for now. My TA is creeping down as promised so I'm happy.
Best of all, the pool is looking a lot better. I took a vacuum to it again today. It did a good enough job as I wait until I get a robot down there. There is still some cloudiness when you look at the lights at night but overall, it is getting much better.
Here are some overall pics with very little touches left to do.
In case anyone wants any night time shots to see the IntelliBrite (Pool and Spa) and GloBrite (Sun Shelf) comparison.
It's actually getting chilly enough (finally) in the Houston area to enjoy the warmth of the fire pit!

You are correct that time and filtering will clear up your water. Like you said you are already seeing good progress in that direction.
That fire pit.......man that looks so inviting! The view from it towards the house..............SO PRETTY! I bet the bubblers sound neat also! So jelly here!

I would suggest not adding the salt and starting the SWCG this year. You are on the cusp of your pool water being too cold for your SWCG to work anyway. Just wait until spring when your pool water temperature reaches 65F or so and then proceed with adding your salt and starting your SWCG.

i didn't start my salt cell this year either. the temp was getting lower and i just decided the same. next year. i just kept dumping chlorine. i'm glad i did cause the salt does affect csi especially with lower temps and then it makes keeping that csi in proper range a bit harder.

Kim, thanks for the compliments. Sorry, no bling on this. I actually wanted some with the spa tile but my wife wanted to keep it "subdued" or as much as one can with a pool.
Marty and Jim, thanks for the advice. Now that you both mention it, I do remember reading that at a certain temp the SWG wouldn't come online (or at least very well). I would have been the dummy trying to get it going with salt but with the cool weather, dumping bleach will probably be easier. One of the reasons I was happy to get the pool done in the fall- I can get used to the chemistry of the pool during season where the numbers shouldn't vary too widely.Great advice, gents and thanks again.

No reason to add the salt now. Just wait until your water temperature gets to about 60F next spring then add it and start the SWCG.

PLUS the pool HAS to be kid swimming temp so he can enjoy "diamond day". The salt looks like diamonds when you add them to the water. It is fun for the kids to swim through them and help mix it in.

Sounds like a plan. I'm beginning to get comfortable with the movement of the numbers based on what is added. Thanks for helping me along. I'll wait until next spring to add salt.

but on the other hand ur paper says to keep the FC lower than u are, but for how long? did you touch base with them if that was ok? but u kinda have to stay higher cause of ur cya now being higher.
