My pool has been properly bonded but I am wondering if I still need to place a copper rod in ground for grounding. I dont think I need one put just want to be certain.
I just finished my pool a couple months ago. No grounded rod. All permits passed. I am in Alberta. Not required here.A ground rod is required in Canada, but not the US.
I may be wrong, but the difference is that in the US the bonding loop isn't required to be tied to the grounding system (but it's not prohibited), but in Canada, it is required to be tied to it. So no separate ground rod is required as long as it's tied back to the house ground rod.
It actually happens pretty often due to a piece of equipment having the frame ground and the bonding lug tied to the same piece of metal. How do you tie it back to house grounding rod?

Basically anywhere the ground and bond loop tie together connects the bond loop back to the house ground rod, as the ground system should be continuous throughout the system.
I am going to have to go to the pool store where I bought my pool because I cant find anywhere one my doughboy filter to attach bond wire.
