Are you sure that it was filter fiber and not DE, because it looks like DE.

How much was added?

What was the maximum filter pressure?

Why are you saying exploited?

Do you mean exploded?

Not trying to pile on, but I think it is pretty evident looking at the pics...

With all the "stuff" you have been adding to your pool and you have algae, you need to be cleaning your small cartridge filter every couple of days if not more...

The filter just can't support the amount of gunk it is collecting.

Or smaller... I am not sure if it is a Florida kind of thing or if there are just too many pools in Florida and not enough filters to go around...

Just a little north on 95 here. So sorry you're having this problem. Others here will help you get your plaster back in shape. The crushed filter is no big deal... it's what they do when delta pr. gets too high. Don't worry about your pump. It's probably OK and worrying won't help anyway.

As you get the pool and plaster back in shape it will be a learning for others about getting this kind of work done. That's about the only thing good that will come of this. At some point when you're able to sort through how to avoid this next time your lesson's learned will be a tremendous benefit to others here.

Try a poly brush first. You just have to hit the algae to break its protective biofilm to let the chlorine do its work.
