Cover Ropes tangles

My pool cover won’t open and it looks like part of the rope has come off the spool? it’s impossible to move it back in place. How does one fix this????

Let’s see if @bmoreswim has the same type of cover.

I do not have the same brand of cover. It looks like your is an Automatic Pool Covers. Unfortunately I am not helpful with the ropes on them. I find them complicated. I actually think it’s a wonder the covers work at all with all the pressure on the ropes.
