Hello Chrissy! I am sorry to hear your pool is cloudy. I have a couple of questions for you.
How do you chlorinate your pool?
How do you test your pool water?
Now I am going to guess the answers to the above questions:
-You use tablets/pucks to add chlorine to your pool.
-You take your water to the local pool store and have them test it then add what they sell you.
If the above are true I know why your water it cloudy. It has nothing to do with your filter. It has to do with your water balance. I am going to guess the pool store told you your CYA was 100. See the tablets add "stabilizer" to the water aka CYA. While you do need some CYA you can have too much. When your CYA is over 60 or so you have to add more and more chlorine to keep your pool clean. FC/CYA Levels This will show you how this all works. The gest of it is-the CYA you have the more FC (Free Chlorine) you need.
Test kit vs pool $tore testing-Yeah the pool store will test the water for "free" BUT is it really free if you walk out with your arms full and wallet empty? Here at TFP we have our own test kits as we have found over and over again the pool stores get the water tests wrong and sell all kind of stuff that is over priced and often not needed. Test Kits Compared You can get most of what you need to care for your pool at Wal-mart, Lowes, Home Depot, etc. for MUCH cheaper! ABC's of Pool Water Chemistry
