By Owner in Phoenix: started up!!

LOVING the water color already. It will only get better as the plaster cures and the water gets balanced.

Here is our start up guide:
look at the second paragraph for the answer to your first question.

I would get about 4 gallons of chlorine. Watch the date stamp to make sure it is fresh.

We didn’t add sequestriant but probably should have. I was told on here when I posted a picture of our calcium test that it showed we have metals. Don’t know when to add it though.
You will go thru chlorine pretty quick since that’s all your using and it’s hot and school is out next week no they will be swimming a lot. But wouldn’t buy more than 2 boxes at a time. Don’t know if you can even buy more than that.

Liquid Chlorine right? The gallon bottles at lowes or Walmart? Not tabs...right?

A quick nighttime light pic.

Startup is Monday but we are already loving our backyard beach (Phineas & Ferb anyone?)

We need to get the lights synced better for now until our Omnilogic is in hand and installed. Can not wait for that!!! But the lights do be pretty.

And just became a supporter of TFP because I really could not have gotten to this point without this community. From design advice early on, to contractor contacts, to info and "attaboy" comments, this community has been great.

Now I'm really close to doing PoolMath and can't wait.

I'll still be updating this thread thru startup and our automation integration, but this build journey is so close to done that I just wanted to thank EVERYONE here who has helped me on this by owner journey. I was lucky and got this done so fast, but as someone said early on (sorry I forgot who, but the concept resonated) "Plan the work and work the plan." Exactly. Despite hiccups, we have gone from break ground on January 31 to swim ready mid May. I'm ecstatic.

Thank you all!!

Thank you for becoming a supporter! You build was a good one!

Correct. Some pool stores do sell liquid chlorine in their 2.5 gallon yellow jugs. You may have to pay a deposit on the jugs but then you just take it back and pick up a new one.

If you do buy from Home Depot or Lowes make sure it is stored in a shaded area and check the date code!

Chances are, here in the Phoenix area, you will not find a pool store selling liquid chlorine in 2.5 gallons jugs - at least not here in the east valley. But some do sell 12.5% liquid chlorine in a four pack of 1 gallon jugs. The jugs are exchanged when you need more. You will pay a deposit on the 4 jugs and crate they come in. Most liquid chlorine offered this way is from Hasa dealers. There are several outlets in the east valley under the AM Corsons / Aquavalve name. There are a few other dealers in the rest of the Phoenix area also, so call around. Last I heard, it was $22 for a four pack of 1 gallon jug (not including deposit if necessary). The Hasa four pack is usually always fresh - bottled in Eloy and delivered twice weekly in summer direct from the Hasa plant.

Walmart, HD, Lowes and Ace usually have 10% available - but check the date codes. Prices vary.

@ddoggphx - are you in Phoenix proper or the 'burbs?
