By Owner in Phoenix: started up!!

Well things have been wild the last week or so. We are now putting the turf in. All the gas has been hooked up for heater and fire pots. It's getting close to pebble ready. I'm a bit blown away at how fast it went from dirt to hardscape.

We are using a local blend called Coronado for the turf. Comparable to Daytona 80 but felt softer and cooler. Using decomposed granite as an underlayment as it drains better than sand, and Wonderfill infill which has anti ammonia and anti microbial coatings. We don't need our yard to smell like our dogs urine lol.

I'm honestly amazed at how quickly your pool is coming together. Great job on the planning!

Which Coronado did you pick? The pictures look like a nice blend even just lying in the street. Had to take a double-take as I thought you had a big lawn in your front yard in the one thumbnail.

We ended up choosing the base pile. 2 inch. We took a long time and had a lot of competing turf from many companies but we loved this one.

That pic made me nostalgic for having a front lawn lol

Turf coming along. It is amazing to see our vision (we laid out this entire design and our designer basically just did the CAD for it) coming so close to the end. We were really looking for the cancun ocean to beach to vegetation vibe. Once pebble and light blue water is in I think we will be very happy.

I know the feeling. I'm having a difficult time getting multiple quotes on waterline tile (with step edge tile) and coping.
Lol I was reading back through my thread and I saw this. We are both charging forward now. The things I could tell early January me lol.

You have come a long way!!! LOVE it! LOL on the dog's spot! They are creatures of habit. There is something about THAT spot the does it for them. Do they have a good sight line of the whole yard there? That is what my dog tried to do. Be where he can see both of us at the same time. Does not work out often though LOL

I think he can see the yard well but also be close to us as it's near the door.

He's finding new spots in the new yard though. He's very happy now.

Looking great!! I'm over hear just waiting on city of phoenix permit to get started and looking at the $23k equipment list trying to wrap my head around how it can be so expensive... lol
It racks up in a hurry. I got a lot of my equipment on Black Friday.

Good LORD we started here. And now are HERE. And notice my stupid perfect dog is laying in the same spot 😂

It looks so nice. Can't wait to see the finished result with water!

We had an old dog that loved laying in the same spot back at our old house. We ended up buying some doggles for him for when he would go sun himself, and he went from squinting in the sun to huge, tongue-hanging smiles.

Can’t wait to see it with water! When is plaster? What are you getting?
They are cleaning up today. Plaster this week?

We are doing aqua cool micro
