So that would put me at 73 instead of 70 and recommend by TFP is 70-80 so I would be ok then. That'll give you about 33ppm
73 ppm is fine, but because of the lack of precision of the CYA test, I'm a bit apprehensive to tell you to do it in one dose. The final result is reliant upon the accuracy of your test results and your estimate of the pool volume. Pool volume I am confident as I called the builder just last week and got what they say it is which is the 11,250 gallons. The test well you know how that is. I think I will shake this jug up the best I can and put it in in 2-3 treatments. That or just wait till tomorrow and go buy dry stabilizer to use instead of what I have.73 ppm is fine, but because of the lack of precision of the CYA test, I'm a bit apprehensive to tell you to do it in one dose. I shook it up for about 20 minutes and added 32 ounces. I know there is still going to be stuff at the bottom of the gallon but I figure to be safe I would do it this way test again on Wednesday and see what results I get and add more as needed. Because the CYA test is the only one that is very difficult to do I don’t want to add too much and then have to drain and refill water. Figure it would be better safe than sorry. I am having to add water to the pool every 3-4 days anyway with our already 14 or 15 days of over 100 degree weather. So I will probably end up using the whole gallon as it is but will see.Use it and rinse several times to get it all.
So maybe I did something wrong here but yesterday my FC was 9.5 when I tested so I went ahead and turned on the SWG and then today my FC was 13 when I tested. Should I turn the SWG back off until the FC drops lower than the 9.5? I set it to do 4ppm and that is exactly what it did today or more since I was at 13 around 5:30 pm today. I have since lowered the % of the SWG to try to get back down? I also pulled a oops and started adding acid to lower PH & TA forgetting that PH is not accurate when FC is above 10ppm that was a waste of acid. Lesson learned.Set your SWG to produce 4 ppm FC per day. Test and adjust output from there.
Consider upgrading to VS pump in the future.
As mentioned, no worries. I guess you've created the perfect pool that doesn't require chlorine.
Once you figure out what your daily FC loss, you can set your SWG accordingly. It'll just take a little testing to figure it out. Great job on getting your pool squared away!

I could not have done it without the help of you guys. I really appreciate it.
You're on it...Am I on track or am I over thinking this?
Maybe...unless you start seeing scale/flakes from the SWG. With those numbers, my pool would flake up like a snow globe. See how things go with normal pH maintenance...You are overthinking this.
At TA 110 and CSI ~.3, maybe... I think if he is diligent with pH testing (often), TA will come down fairly quickly. If he wants to speed that up, reduce pH to 7.2. When it rises to 7.6, reduce to 7.2 again. Monitor TA along the way. When TA gets to about 70, stop forcing pH to 7.2 and let it hover around 7.8 and see how stable it is...Maybe...unless you start seeing scale/flakes from the SWG. You're on it...
Your plan works...it works for me. My fill water has a TA of 130. In summer I'm constantly battling TA and pH rise. I have a spa spillover that I run constantly to aerate. This increases pH and allows me to add MA which controls TA rise. If my TA gets above 80, I start seeing flakes from the SWG (my CH is only 300). Without the daily aeration, my TA would beyond control.
I can't recall if you've checked your fill water TA and CH. Might be a good time...
You may have seen this, but here is the article on Lowering TA:
Fill water TA 120 CH 100

I agree on testing fill water...this could be a culprit!
That is not bad...seen some north of 250. Yikes.Fill water TA 120 and CH 100

I stand by advice in post 94 and 96. Manage your pH, don't chase TA. It will come down over time. Manage your pH between 8 and 7.6. If you really want to push it, do as I said in post 96 and when TA gets to 70, let pH settle where it wants.
