My latest TFT test kit results (last evening) after turning on the SWG for the first two days (new pool=1 month)
FC 8
CC 0
CYA 70
TA 180 (That's my tap fill water as well)
PH 7.6
CH 250
SALT (Strip) says 3100 (Pool Math says it should be 3500)
Temp 84 ( I have a clear solar cover-- my son with autism likes it warm)
The guidance for a SWG says to lower the TA to 60-80 (important!); the guidance for lowering TA says only do it for lower the rate of PH rising or high CSI. The
So I have four questions:
First, What do I do about TA?
Second. I tested the water at the end of the pump/swg cycle with the pump still running, w/o being in the pool all day. Is this when I should test? Or in the morning 1/2 hour after the pump starts, or without the pump running? My pump runs 8-10 at 3400rpm; 10-8 at 1400 rpm, 8-10 2200 rpm (I don't know GPM),
Second, the Chlorine/CYA chart says 3 min 5 target, so is 8 way to high (safe?)
Third does it matter if I tested away from the skimmer/rj or not?
Four, how will temperature and pool cover affect things? Algae in particular.
Thanks in advance
Brian
