A Houston Pool Build Inside the Loop

Hey, have you guys been to QDI here in Houston? That's where we went to pick out our travertine and split face stone, they have huge courtyard with all the choices built outside on display. One of the travertines you posted pic of (Noche) is what we used and we got it from QDI. That piece you have is considerably orange, BTW, you know how it varies. But, I think the Colorado will look great with that glass tile. Master Tile is right around the corner from QDI and you can see all their glass tiles too. Highly recommend a trip to QDI, it's very helpful seeing all your choices on display and holding your glass selection up to the stone there in the daylight.

Pool999, that is where we went for the travertine and then went to Keystone, then Master Tile.

Marla I have to laugh. We have the exact same squares of Silver and Colorado sitting on our patio right now as well.....

Kim, Plat did give me the name of 2 great PBs, one who we ended up using. He's using the other. 
I wanted to go visit NPT and look at their tiles today. Interestingly, they aren't open on Saturdays until March. That seems strange....
Guess I won't be going there because I can't go during the week and don't want to wait til March!

That stinks. Good to know though. Are they supposed to be one of the best places to look? Maybe call them during the week and ask about Saturdays. Explain the situation... Lol Where else is good in our area?

Master Tile is good for tile. For stone try QDI or Keystone, both off of Hempstead Hwy. There are probably a lot of others, maybe someone else will chime in.
LOL that was Helen BUT I do have the day off and boy do I need it! Too bad you don't have it off. At least you other places to look at stones. I sure do not understand a place that sells to the public NOT being open on Saturday!

Hey Marla, what do you teach? If you have summers off, at least a few weeks, your new pool will make for a wonderful stay-cation.
Helen, I work in the office and help run the after school program and am an 11 month employee. But I'm looking forward to being in the pool every night!
I know this topic has been discussed to death, but I didn't think I would have to seal my travertine coping from the salt. But on some other threads, I read people were doing just that. I would prefer not to do it if I didn't have to.
You can seal ANY stone. Some need to more than others. Flagstone is the one I have heard NEEDED it. Travertine seems to be a harder stone that has been said does not need sealing.

Kim, that's what I thought too but then other threads were talking about sealing, it became too confusing! LOL
We're going to do SWG with travertine and I don't plan to seal. [emoji1303]
