Thoughts about stagnant water in the heater when bypassed?

easy solution would be allow a trickle to not bypass Similar to how we fixed our rock wall issue We have a rock water fall that traps leaves and then when we do turn it on we get a dump of rotted and other leaves etc - to fix that we have the waterfall turn on every day at 6pm for 15 min That...

Figured out why pool is a little cloudy for the first time

i added a gallon of chlorine and a lb of shock the day before this - usually clears up the worst quick = and I have no issues with CYA since I still have a leak after 3 or 4 "leak checkers " "fix" issues

    Bait & Switch from INYO?

I ordered some stuff from them to fix Texas freeze damage, the whole process was confusing and frustrating. The order was cancelled due to lack of stock after the website claimed it was in stock. Then 7 days later the order arrived which was now a duplicate since I had ordered from another...

    Buying parts after epic freeze

I went ahead and did a quick repair to the PVC I could see was broken so that I could test the main pump and the filter and heater We got lucky the filter and the 2 year old heater are still good. Just some PVC, some valves lost. The SWG sensor also was acting up BUT I never replaced it when...

    Buying parts after epic freeze

I've had quite an experience trying to get parts mostly valves for my TX pool that really only has minor damage (so far ) I've watched the prices for jandy valves double and the supply chain fail to keep up with demand. You can double check that the part is in stock before ordering but still...

    Is my boost pump serviceable?

The set it and forget it features of the old school pressure side polaris method are my preference. Its in the pool 365 days and cleans every day with out me having to remember anything. I only take it out when its in the way of the grandkids swimming

Spa draws down in spa mode

late update - I had a 3rd leak check on the pool and this guy found all finds of issues with 12 of the returns in the pool and the light - Puryear pools did the previous leak check 2 year ago or so when they refurbed the paster and assured us that when they replastered and Aquabrighted it would...

Dallas Inground with no electricity to speak of for 4 days with temps in the teens. Damage is starting to show up ....

So far I can only see one check valve and PVC section that is cracked. I was an idiot and didn't drain everything when I saw the power issues. If I had known how easy it would have been to do I would have done it even though I was exhausted from hacking together a generator to keep the house...

What is your VS pump schedule?

Don't understand splitting between. High and low ... Most vs pump use about 6x as much power at max rpm as at half Max... I would base my run time on return flow to keep leaves moving, water clarity and power use. I never run my main pump at max. I run the others at max sometimes but they...

Is a VS pump right for my situation?

since I JUST took these, they might help with your decision - I have Pentair VS pumps and the power savings from SMALL reductions in RPM is significant The VS maxes out at 3400 rpm and lowest usable for us is about 800 rpm but we usually run 1100 or higher just to keep good flow. Here the RPMs...

Spa draws down in spa mode

well I replaced both JVAs and the check valve, and the issue isn't gone but its better, I hope Also realized that even though the pump pressure wasn't high the filter cartridges were so full they were blocking flow, and causing the heater to make noise and error with a high limit error. The...

Spa draws down in spa mode

Great idea I can turn off the automation and run in manual mode. last year one of the limit switches was broken inside one of the actuators and replacing it was challenging because the case and innards were crispy from the sun and age. And stuff was cracking in the housing. I haven't...

Spa draws down in spa mode

I'm guessing that one of the valves is not turning all the way, an alignment issue, that's causing this ? ive attached some images of the plumbing I'm considering just ordering new valves and actuators. Ive "repaired" one of the limit switches in one of the valves already One question is do...

Help me save money with our pool pumps

nice place I'm no expert but you can google and find that if your pump is single speed its using 5-10x the power a VS pump would for less flow Both numbers are guesses but my older pentair VS pumps use 1600 watts or more at full speed and 200 at lower speeds A post here shows 2500 watts at...

Upgrading to VS pump from Single Speed

i have jandy I aqualink and 3 pentair VS pumps. They work fine. Its the only system Ive had so I dont know what if anything is missing ... The ONLY issue I have with the VS setup is that the freeze protect VS speeds set in Iaqualink are ignored by the pumps and when the temp goes down I...

    VS Pump programming

I run mine based on Watts used If your system is working well and you have adequate Chlorine you dont need a ton of run time I just replaced my SWG today so I plan to turn run time down soon. I had increased it to allow for lower production of the SWG.
