    How picky is too picky?

We are almost done, waiting on punch list items, swimming and having a ball! But not 100% satisfied with the coping job (see pics). Just seems like shoddy work: rough edges on mitered corners; awkward angle cuts and asymmetrical layout at corners (not planned or well-thought-out at...

Read Pool School, but where do I even start!?

Our pebble pool (Wet Edge Satin Matrix) is finally full of tap water (on Sunday). PB came and poured the following in on Tuesday (48 hrs after fill): 1 Quart of "the Magenta Stuff" by Jack's magic 1 gallon of Bleach 1 gallon of Muriatic Acid 31.45% (20 buame) And then he just left! So where do...

    Coping after deck pour?

Had some quality control issues with our batch of pre-cast concrete coping (major chipping and coming loose from bond beam), so they are ripping out and re-ordering. But in the meantime they want to pour the concrete decking, then come back and re-install the new coping. Is that an ill advised...

    Gunite shell sprung a leak?

After torential rains, there's a ton of water pooled up behind the bond beam wall...and now there's a small spring pouring out through the gunite shell...cause for concern? There is a leak under the return stub, which makes sense, but the one in the far corner is just straight through the...

Finally got an open hole! (then comes the monsoons...)

With all the help from TFP, we finally pulled the trigger. Dig day is done! Been raining ever since! Have a few partial collapsed spots, and about a foot of water, but as to be expected with over 12" rainfall in 24 hrs. Delayed for the next week or so. Just wanted to say thanks to all, and...

Spa dam height Help!?!? Start digging next week...

Contract signed, permits pulled, equipment selected, TF100 on order! ;) But still can't decide on spa height relative to waterline... Aesthetically we like both ways. Logically I assume keeping the spa water in (and pool water out) is important, so raised spa dam is best (versus the flush)?

Almost ready to pull the trigger!

Just wondering if anything stands out on this PB contract? It's not the most detailed, but it is the most detailed one I've gotten back out of 3 PB quotes! I know it doesn't show model numbers either (waiting for PB to send me those), but it's a start. The only items of concern are the...

Explain how to compact crusher in 3" lifts

Sorry, newbie here (and actually haven't even started my project; will have to wait til next summer) just reading as much as I can before break ground. But could someone (Casey?) describe/explain what it means to do 3" lifts when compacting the crusher run... I've 'googled' it but keep getting...
