Time for a new pool slide

My 25+ year old slide is still in pretty good shape. The metal ladder portion and the 2 lower metal trestle's are sound and secure. My concern is that there are some cracks in the fiberglass, and I am worried that it could become compromised and unsafe. So here is a picture of my set up I...

    Offline Chlorinator question

thanks guys. yes, it fit easily. they seemed to be standard 1/2” (maybe5/8”-couldn’t tell with naked eye). probably could’ve done it in less than 10 minutes, but it took an extra 90 seconds to wrap the teflon tape. this was a very simple replacement. so, while the jury is still out in the...

    Offline Chlorinator question

I have a SWG, so I am asking for a friend.... Looking to replace his broken offline chlorinator with a Hayward, or Jacuzzi brand. His current one is an off brand. Do the threaded in and out holes for the flexible black tubing have a standard diameter as this would make for a 10 minute easy...

    Hello from Melville NY--Long Island.

That's what i figured too, but wanted to point out. what about the stated volume at 60k gallons. Did you see my other comment?

    Hello from Melville NY--Long Island.

how come your FC always equals your CC ? At best it should equal TC, not CC. your last reading would suggest FC = 20.5, CC=20.5, TC = 41.0, cannot be

    Hello from Melville NY--Long Island.

I'm a little late to this convo, but Paul.... Your pool is not 60x40. 40k gallons. It's way smaller. The pics of your pool look like it's about 16 feet wide. I am basing this on the 1 foot square tiles as a reference. also, the size of a standard size hammock and the ladder. Also, a 60x40...

    TFP for the WIN!!!

right ? i know the feeling . i’m walking around the deep end , examining everything. then all of a sudden, i’m like “wait! wait! honey - is that a stain 16 1/2 inches to the left of the main drain?” her: “no dear, it’s a blade of grass.” me: “hmmmmm, ok, i’ll go take a nap.”

    Don't know what to do

So, my pool has been open for 2 weeks, and since I followed everyone's advice for Closing in October, and opening this season, everything went REALLY easy. I have old fashioned vinyl cover and my water was clear and even had some Chlorine still registering. All other levels, including CYA were...

    Texas Rec TRC Float repair

Got a few little tears in these reduculously expensive vinyl Floats. I know this stuff is supposed to be the best to repair it, but everybody on the planet is sold out. Can’t even find it on secondary market like amazon or eBay. one would think that there is something that is sold at AC Moore...

    White Plastic Fittings Turning Yellow

Yeah, I agree. I know their salt , while being very fine and dissolves quickly has been known to leave stains. I have used their CYA in the past, and it works fine. I would’ve thought this stuff would be straight forward, but apparently not. Enjoy your day LS

    White Plastic Fittings Turning Yellow

Alright ! AJW. You nailed it. (Mostly) a lot of the staining On the eyeball fitting wiped away instantaneously. Some of the threads on the eyeball ring didn’t , but I’d say it worked for the most part. It’s curious that this Clorox off the self stuff did absolutely nothing. Also worth noting...

Brand new fill - Sequence ?

Long Island tap water. Excellent water, very drinkable. But you’re saying SLAM not necessary ? Think I can get away with a simply shooting for nominal chlorine of 3-6? Never thought of that.

Brand new fill - Sequence ?

I'm helping out my nephew with his new Intex 16x36x52" above ground vinyl pool. He will have a SWG. I'm ready for him to SLAM as soon as filled, but I am thinking this is what I am going to recommend. As soon as he has filled a foot or so of water, I am going to put a few socks with CYA in a...
