Good morning everybody

Hope and trust that we all had a safe and healthy 4th .

can anyone help me identify the cause and/or possible remedy for things like eyeball returns having a yellow/brownish tinge to them? here are a few pictures.

aside from the eyeballs, there is a little of this discoloring in the weirs.

I thought it might be metal, so I have soaked them in metal/scale preventative. No difference

FC 3.0
pH 7.7
Alk 70
CYA 65
CH 130

thanks to all ! Enjoy the rest of the weekend

Make a paste of vitamin C and rub it on them. If it cleans it then it is iron staining.

Alright ! AJW.
You nailed it.
(Mostly)

a lot of the staining On the eyeball fitting wiped away instantaneously. Some of the threads on the eyeball ring didn’t , but I’d say it worked for the most part. It’s curious that this Clorox off the self stuff did absolutely nothing.

Also worth noting, one of my 10”x10” Hayward sp1080 skimmer lids had turned yellow, but the vitamin c had no effect on that.

thank you for your help

I stay away from Clorox pool products. Most of them are junk.
Yeah, I agree. I know their salt , while being very fine and dissolves quickly has been known to leave stains.
I have used their CYA in the past, and it works fine.
I would’ve thought this stuff would be straight forward, but apparently not.

Enjoy your day
