I took the filter apart, and everything looks fine. When I put it back together again, I noticed there is a small itty bitty drip.

My Polaris doesn't do a great job. I am thinking of taking it out permanently and going with a pool robot only. Questions: 1) Anyone do this? Experiences? 2) Better to buy online or bricks-and-mortar? WRT price, service etc etc 3) I am eyeing a Dolphin Premier Robotic Pool Cleaner - Open Box...

Hey Jim, I tested the copper coil again, and when I dunk it in ice-water, you can hear an audible *clink* -- is it safe assume that sound is the relay closing? Meaning that it reads the temp change correctly (thermostat is fine) but relay needs replacing?

I am at low end of calcium hardness -- is it like phosphates in the TFP paradigm ie it doesn't matter. Or do I need to address it with some cal-hypo? I have been using liquid chlorine almost exclusively up to now.

Phosphate tests or pool store tests don't matter? Or both? My phosphates went down ostensibly post-SLAM + the water is crystal clear. I didn't do anything to address phosphates directly (ie the stuff that the pool stores sell).
