Anyone know where I can find a 2 1/2" to 2" adapter for pool filter

Could probably make an adapter by gluing the slip part of the 2" PVC Schedule 40 Spigot x Female Adapter to the Pentair 270100. The 21063-250-000 model of the high temperature union looks like it might just work by itself though. Thanks @JamesW !

Anyone know where I can find a 2 1/2" to 2" adapter for pool filter

Got the union attached to the pipes from Amazon here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0935P4MKW They give a number of "21063-200-000-2" but not sure which company that's for. The tank is a Pentair 178578: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004VU8RXW

Anyone know where I can find a 2 1/2" to 2" adapter for pool filter

Thanks for the videos and sorry if I'm still not seeing how this works without cutting off the 2" threaded union on my pipes. What does the 2" threaded collar on my pipe screw onto after this kit is installed? There don't appear to be any 2" threads made available after installing the 270100...

Anyone know where I can find a 2 1/2" to 2" adapter for pool filter

2 1/2" side is threaded, but the other side is a slip. I'd have to cut off the old 2" union from the pipe to slip this new 2 1/2" union onto the 2" pipe I think?

Anyone know where I can find a 2 1/2" to 2" adapter for pool filter

Thanks @JamesW, To use that, I'd have to cut off the old 2" union to replace it with this one?

Anyone know where I can find a 2 1/2" to 2" adapter for pool filter

Bought a new bottom for my aging pool filter. The new one has 2 1/2" male in/out connectors whereas the old one had 2". Just finished repairing my pipes and was hoping to avoid cutting again, so looked everywhere online (Lowes, Home Depot, Amazon, Plumbing Supply, Pool Supply / Leslies...

Where to buy replacement for old 320 cartridge filter

Hi All, I'm looking to replace the 320 square foot cartridge filter (A/P Quantum 360) that was here when I bought my place. Visually and from measurements, it looks like the closest thing is the Pentair 160340. Read some threads on TFP suggesting it's better to oversize (my pool is 25k...

Help connecting pool fountain to quick connect

Been trying to find a way to connect a Poolmaster waterfall/fountain to a quick connect port. Bought a quick connector, but on the other side of the quick connector it is 1" female, while the waterfall/fountain is 1 1/4" male. Been searching Home Depot, Lowes, etc., but can't find a 1 1/4" to...

Replacement manifold for old American Quantum filter

In the rare chance that someone else will run into the same situation. Called Pentair (using a number from a seven year old review - 800-831-7133) and they were amazingly helpful. Helped with an ancient product from before the company was bought by Pentair and didn't need any purchase info...

Replacement manifold for old American Quantum filter

Hi all, I have an old Quantum 360 filter that needed a new manifold. Saw this diagram in a few places (here's the one from INYOpools) https://www.inyopools.com/pool_parts_american_products_quantum_rpm.aspx It suggests the val-pak V38-220 is the part to use for replacement...

Solar Thermal vs Photovoltaic + Heat Pump - averaged over whole year (California / Bay Area)

Thanks cowboycasey and scdaren! That's a lot of detail with a good range (2.4kwh vs 7.5). Our pool is about 25,000 gal so assuming worst case of 7.5kw at 5 hours instead of the 3 for the 15,000 gal pool scdaren mentioned would take a little less power than our whole south facing roof outputs in...

Solar Thermal vs Photovoltaic + Heat Pump - averaged over whole year (California / Bay Area)

Our Southern facing roof is covered in photovoltaic panels for household electricity and the Northern roof is covered in solar thermal panels for the pool. Even though the thermal panels are on the north side, the roof gets enough sun to keep the pool warm for about 1/2 the year (shallow pitch...

How to measure roof temperature for solar calibration?

How do I measure the roof temperature so I can calibrate my solar sensor readings? Do I just lay a thermometer on the roof or should it be on the panels? Should the thermometer glass touch the roof tiles or is it ok to have it in a plastic housing? Tried using a laser thermometer and it gave...

Expensive screw for anchoring pool light

Thanks for the thread and Amazon links. The label on my can actually says "Only use the stainless steel pilot screw (P/N 791048) provided with the light for mounting into wet niche). Still uncomfortable with $4.84 for a screw, but maybe it will be worth the time.

Expensive screw for anchoring pool light

The light can from my pool was good enough to list the screw anchoring it to the wall as part 791048. Went to look for a replacement and people want $5-8 for a screw with a washer. pool supply inyo The screw appears to be a stainless countersunk dog point pilot, maybe 24 thread. Had to do a...

    Help finding main drain cover

Been a while but finally covered the drain hole. I ended up getting a new cover that I screwed to the old cover's ring with stainless screws (cut the screws flush so the cover could insert all the way.). The new cover I used was from Leslie's. Can't find it on their website, but here's a link...

Online RPM calculator to maximize heat?

Thanks for the simple rule of thumb (1 psi = 0.433 ft) and calculations. That makes things a lot simpler. You are correct, it's the 3hp model. Would you have a good rule of thumb for getting the max heat out of a solar thermal system? Summer is dying down and I only have solar for heating. I...

Online RPM calculator to maximize heat?

Situation I've been reading threads on head on and off for a few years as I replaced parts of my system but I'm having a hard time putting it all together to figure out the best RPM to get the most heat out of my solar thermal panels. Question Is there an on-line calculator I can plug all my...
