how do I get rid of LOTS of dirt from recent deck renovation

We have a 35k gallon inground pool and After last summer's swimming season, we had a new deck put in. When I opened the pool this season, I found that there is tons of dirt at the bottom of the pool. I ran the robotic cleaner (Polaris 9550 sport) however it runs for a REALLY short amoutn of...

    Leaf stain on pavers

I just had pavers installed around the pool. The fallen leaves have left a stain on them. I washed it down with a hose but the stain remains. Any ideas

Strange thing after unscrewing top of valve

I have a SP715XR50 Hayward Valve, which had a stuck handle. I unscrewed and removed the top and viola the handle moves. HOWEVER, after I put it back on, and screwing in - I moved it to filter except I saw water pumping out the back as if I was backwashing or rinsing. I assumed, I must not have...

    Pool Deck Wall

Q#1 - I currently have concrete around my gunite (?) inground pool. I'm having stone pavers installed on top of the deck, as well as on top of the coping. In addition , I'm thinking of putting a decorative wall at the dep end of the pool. Should I be concerned of the added weight and sinking...

Is it safe to jackhammer around pool?

One person who came suggested only taking out the existing coping, and putting the pavers on top of the existing deck. This would raise the level as currently the deck is on the same level of the coping - so adding pavers on top will raise it higher. The current decking is not level however...

Is it safe to jackhammer around pool?

Good idea. Though Would it require a caterpillar digger or similar to assess the piping. Ie if isn’t the piping very deep below where will be exposed when the concrete is taken off.

Is it safe to jackhammer around pool?

I have concrete around the pool area that needs to be replaced I spoke to a masonry guy to put down stone and he said he would use a jack hammer to remove the existing concrete. I have an old pool is that dangerous or are the pipes to deep to be a concern. Also if it is a concern is the...

Non slip - Artifical grass or carpet around pool?

I'll try to add pics - but it's both cracked and stained, and also has noticeable spots of concrete patches (b.c they used a different type of material)

Non slip - Artifical grass or carpet around pool?

Also, adding to the difficulty. My wife read that (many) artificial turfs are made from checimals that she feels are harmful. So we'd need something that was "safe"

Non slip - Artifical grass or carpet around pool?

The deck around my inground pool is cement. And it looks pretty bad. One option is to repaint it. However, I was thinking of putting artifical grass or perhaps even an outdoor "carpet" w/drainage holes on it. Does anyone have any experience where they can recommend one that is not expensive...

I bought the waterguru, so I don't need a pH tester. What do waterguru owners use to test alkalinity?

    Bluetooth extender for WaterGuru?

I just bough the waterguru and I see that it only takes a reading once per day. If I want an additional reading, I have to request it from that app. That's not a big deal, except (to save battery) if you're not in bluetooth range, it can take 90 minutes for it to pick up the request and return...

how do I find out where my pipes are

I'm looking to use 18" grass stakes (link) for my safety pool cover. Being that I'm putting them around the pool (grass is approx. 5-10' from the pool) and pump and heater is on the southern side about 15-20' from the pool. How can I tell that I'm not going to puncture a pipe? Is there a...

Use of 2 thick but 1/2 sized solar covers instead of 1lighter one

Did some research - thinking of buying sun2solar series 1200 or 1600 - they claim the clear does much better at absorbing / producing heat via letting more sunlight in. Is that correct? Price difference is negligible - if so, seems like a no brainer.

Use of 2 thick but 1/2 sized solar covers instead of 1lighter one

great info (all) - thanks! Question - If thickness doesn't impact the heat retention, what's the sweet spot of thickness that provides enough weight to stay down/not blow in wind, and easy to roll up? Likewise any good recommendations large (25x50) and works well yet easy to roll up?

Use of 2 thick but 1/2 sized solar covers instead of 1lighter one

I have a 25x48' inground pool . I had a good quality 25 x50' thick solar cover that would get rolled out acrross the entire length of the pool that did a nice job of retaining heat. However it was so heavy that even with the best quality roller it became a 2 person job to roll it up - as such...

Heating pool with an undersized heater??

I had a gas guy come - turns out my existing piping won't support the heater and will cost too much to lay down that amount of new piping. So going to stick with the Electric Heat Pump.
