So this happened

WOW! Really nice, right down to the matchie-matchie pool house. Love the deck and the grey/white. Awesome.

Have you ever run across my tip for calculating your pool's true water volume?
Possibly, The water meter tip?
It just rained, i should take another pic after the deck dries. It does change color significantly.
Thanks for the compliments.

Yep. This might be the only time you'll ever get to use it. An accurate number is handy for the chemical dosing. Plus, always fun to see how far off your contractor's estimate is from reality.

I'm sorry, too.... that I didn't have more time today to really fill up these pages!
I am un hijack able. I request it even. I sent you a PM inviting you specifically for said reason. :ROFLMAO: I'm kinda sad nobody posted any dogs. I mean. I'll live. But still.

You have a GREAT design for laps, but 3 feet could be a knuckle buster. I understand the $$$ thing, but you're living with this decision forever.

Another +1 on at least 3.5 in shallow. I went 4ft in shallow so kickflips are easier. It sucked in my former 3ish+ ft pool.
It wasn't only cost as it was supply issues. PBs supplier hasn't been able to get the plastic stairs in a year. Getting the custom deeper ones would likely be even worse. I have 2 dogs and the little one would shred liner stairs. The big one might as well walk on pitchforks. So then the option was to use the 42 inch regular steps and build a concrete/ liner floor step to accommodate the extra depth, but it would be a trip hazard jetting into the shallow end.

We had the other pool for 9 years and not one true lap was ever swam. 1000 half *effort* laps were swam, and the shallower depth didn't really matter. My wife is vertically challenged so it's GREAT for her. Me and the kids live in the deep end anyway.

I will advise a 4 ft shallow end to everyone else until the end of time. It was going to further delay my already long delayed build for very little gain to us.

That's a heckuva napping location! Hope she doesn't roll over! Talk about a rude awakening!

That one shot of her face, on the lounge chair, says it all, I think. That dog is all about the pool, and even when she has to sleep, she's gonna make sure nothing goes on in that pool without her knowing about it. She looks freaked out on the chair, as it she's thinking, "I can't get comfortable. What is happening over at the pool? I'm going to miss out on everything sitting over here!"

I love your dog. Is he all german shepherd? I miss mine terribly.
Yes. He's 100% German Shepherd. He's been amazing during my grieving process. He'll come up to me to nudge me that it's time to snuggle and we SNUGGLE! He's been such a great emotional support for me. It's like free hugs when no one else is around.

I'm sorry you are going through that but I love that he's been such a great comfort for you. Dogs are seriously the best.
