Lightmaster, the pool bleach at Walmart is near the garden center in the pool aisles.
They don’t stock it there year round though.
I’m in Texas but I am new here, so I don’t know when exactly “pool season” begins at Walmart.
I'm no expert, but I would call that pH at 7.3
And I call it "red" when there is no hint of lavender in it. So, your third one.
We use the same stirring bar. We just rinse it well.
(How cool is that magnetic stirrer? I love it. )
I love that he cleans those gross bugs out for me. I will run lights more to make sure he/she always has plenty.
I love raccoons. As long as they're not damaging my property they are adorable. I'm really thankful it wasn't a snake
I know you all discuss pool renovations extensively and maybe it's because I'm using TapATalk but I can't find the proper forum for it.

I can't decide if I want to deter him though. The only thing in the skimmer was dog hair and spent hibiscus flowers. Kinda nice.
It's happened 10-12 times now and the skimmer lids have never been...
It happens only in the summer and with or without the pool running. Does this happen to anyone else?
Is an animal opening them to eat the beetles from the basket?
Is something big exiting the pool through the skimmer opening? We are super confused. Any guesses?

I can not believe I didn't reply to you two. I know I read the comments... I flaked.
We did take your advice and just left the pool open all winter. Easy peasy to maintain, and we ran the heater (which wasn't even supposed to work according to the previous owner - BONUS) during warm weather...
Mkubaki -
Hubby disconnected the wires from the motor and tested voltage again - he did not know the power could falsely feed back through the motor. He reports that only one wire is providing 110, and the other is providing none - so it would appear that you are right. He is going to run to...
